About the Truro Design

Truro is a Shaker-style wardrobe: framed panel doors with a slim raised border around a flat centre, beneath a solid oak-effect cornice. At three metres it is the largest in the range, and this is where the style earns its place. Six framed doors in a row, capped by a continuous timber-look cornice, read less like a wardrobe and more like a wall of fitted cottage joinery.

The cornice is finished in wood rather than matching the carcase, and across three metres that unbroken line of oak is what ties the whole front together. Each colour has its own cornice, chosen to suit it:

White with Bianco Oak is the finish that lets you have three metres of wardrobe without the room paying for it – a pale front that reads as wall, with the washed oak giving it just enough warmth.

Pebble Grey with Dark Rustic Oak is the most traditional, and at this size the most like bespoke cabinetry. The darker oak running the full width gives the front real presence.

Sage Green with Bianco Oak across three metres is a genuine statement – a heritage green on this scale is rarely available in freestanding furniture. It works best in a room with good light and a scheme built around it.

Slate bar handles give each framed door a defined line without competing with the cornice.

Mirror Options

Décor front keeps the Shaker panels across all six doors – the purest and most traditional version. Two centre doors mirrored gives a dressing mirror at the middle of the wardrobe with four panelled doors framing it, which keeps the cottage look almost entirely intact. Four centre doors mirrored gives a wide reflective section across the middle, with a panelled door at each end – the most light, and the choice for a room where three metres of solid front would feel heavy.

Interior and Construction

Inside, the wardrobe divides into three equal compartments of 100cm, each with two adjustable shelves and a metal clothes rail. Three full-width sections is a genuinely generous arrangement: two people sharing can take one each, with the third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing – and none of the three is a compromise.

Construction is heavier than most at this level: a 15mm carcase, 22mm shelves and metal shelf supports rather than plastic pegs. All six doors have soft-close cushioned hinges, and LED lighting kits can be added.

Sizes and Matching Furniture

If three metres is more than the wall will take, Truro is also produced as a 2 door at 100cm, a 3 door at 150cm, a 4 door at 200cm and a 5 door at 250cm, all in the same three colour combinations.

The matching bed, 3 drawer chest, and narrow and wide 4 drawer chests carry the same cornice finish on their upper panel, so a full room reads as one set.

What are the mirror options?
Three: a décor front with no mirror, mirrors on the two centre doors, or mirrors on the four centre doors. In each case the end doors keep their framed Shaker panels.

Which mirror option should I choose?
Two mirrored doors keep the cottage look almost entirely intact while giving you a proper dressing mirror. Four mirrored doors give the most light and stop three metres of solid front feeling heavy. No mirror is the most traditional.

How is the wardrobe divided inside?

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

• Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
• Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
• Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
• Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
• Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
• Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
• Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.

Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.
