14-Day Return & Exchange Guarantee

At Home of Wardrobes, we understand that sometimes things don’t work out. That’s why we offer a 14-day return and exchange policy in line with UK consumer law.

If you're not fully satisfied with your furniture purchase, you may return or exchange it within 14 days of delivery. However, please note returns are not free—charges apply for collection services, restocking, and original delivery costs where applicable.

How to Start a Return

To initiate a return or exchange, email our customer service team at info@homeofwardrobes.co.uk within 14 days of receiving your order. Include your order number, details of the item(s), and reason for the return. Returns must be authorised before sending anything back.

Return Charges & Conditions

  • Collection Charges: Returns can be collected by our courier service. Collection fees start from £60, depending on item size, weight, and location.
  • Original Delivery Fee: If your item was delivered with a "free delivery" offer, the original delivery charge will still be deducted from your refund.
  • Restocking Fee: Certain items may be subject to a supplier restocking fee. This will also be deducted from your refund.
  • Return Window: All items must be returned within 14 days of delivery in original packaging and unused condition.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Made-to-order furniture: These products are custom-manufactured specifically for your order and cannot be cancelled, returned, or exchanged.
       -- > This includes situations where the wrong size was ordered by the customer. We do not measure spaces or assess room access on your behalf. It is your responsibility to ensure the item fits the intended space and can be delivered through doorways, staircases, or tight access points.
      -- > In the unlikely event that a made-to-order item arrives with damage, we will supply replacement parts free of charge. Please note that replacement parts follow the same lead time as the original item, as they are subject to the same made-to-order production process.
  • Ready-assembled furniture: These items are not returnable once delivered.
  • Flat-pack items that have been assembled: Items are ineligible for return if they’ve been assembled, unless faulty and approved by our team.
  • Sale or clearance items: These are final sale and cannot be returned.
  • Items returned after 30 days: Returns will not be accepted beyond 30 days from delivery.

Important: Please double-check all product dimensions and access routes before placing your order, especially for made-to-order items. Delivery teams are not responsible for measuring access or managing structural limitations at the delivery address.

Damaged, Faulty, or Incorrect Items

  • Report any issues within 48 hours of delivery by emailing hello@homeofwardrobes.co.uk with photographic evidence.
  • Retain original packaging for all claims.
  • We will provide free replacement parts, a replacement item, or refund where appropriate.
  • Do not attempt assembly if the product is damaged or incorrect. Assembling the item may invalidate your return or replacement eligibility.

Important for Made-to-Order Items: If a made-to-order product arrives with any damaged components, we will replace the part(s) at no cost. However, customers must be aware that replacement parts are made to order and may take the same delivery timeframe as the original product.

Order Cancellation

  • Orders may be cancelled before dispatch for a full refund.
  • If the order has been dispatched, return charges apply.
  • Made-to-order items cannot be cancelled once production has begun.

Returns – Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I return my item if I’ve assembled it?

No – returns are not accepted if you have attempted to assemble the product.

We strongly advise inspecting your items before assembly. If the product arrives damaged, you must report it within 48 hours and before assembly. We will arrange free replacement parts or an exchange.

If the damage occurs during the process of assembly, the customer is responsible. Replacement parts must be purchased separately. Refunds or exchanges are not offered in such cases.

If our team assembles the item during delivery, any damages are fully covered by us at no cost to you.

Q. Can I return my item myself?

Yes, you may use your own courier. However, you are responsible for ensuring the item is returned in original, undamaged condition. Items damaged in transit during self-return will not be eligible for refund.

Q. Why is the delivery fee deducted from my refund if delivery was free?

While delivery may be advertised as free, it still incurs logistical costs. If an item is returned, the actual delivery fee will be deducted from your refund.

Q. How long does return collection take?

Return collections are logistically more complex than deliveries. They require custom scheduling based on your location and courier availability. Please allow up to 14 days for a return collection to be arranged. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process.

This policy is governed by and interpreted according to the laws of England and Wales.
