About the Truro Design

Truro is a Shaker-style wardrobe: framed panel doors with a slim raised border around a flat centre, beneath a solid oak-effect cornice. With five doors across 250cm, an odd number puts a single door at the exact centre of the front – which gives the wardrobe a natural focal point and a symmetry that even-numbered fronts lack.

The cornice is finished in wood rather than matching the carcase, so the painted doors sit beneath a warm timber-look top. Each colour has its own cornice, chosen to suit it:

White with Bianco Oak is the lightest, and at two and a half metres the combination that does most to keep the wardrobe from dominating the room.

Pebble Grey with Dark Rustic Oak is the warmest and most traditional – the darker oak across this width gives the front the character of handmade cabinetry.

Sage Green with Bianco Oak is the most distinctive: a soft heritage green made for Shaker furniture, which at this width becomes the defining colour of the room.

Slate bar handles give each framed door a defined line without competing with the cornice.

Three Mirror Choices

The centred door is what makes the mirror options work well on this size.

Décor front keeps the Shaker panels across all five doors – the purest version of the design. Centre door mirror places a single mirror at the exact middle of the wardrobe, framed by two panelled doors either side, which is the most balanced of the three. Three centre doors mirrored gives a wide dressing mirror across the middle of the front, with a panelled door at each end holding the traditional look – the choice for a room that needs the light.

Interior and Construction

The wardrobe divides into three compartments – 100cm, 50cm and 100cm – each with two adjustable shelves and a metal clothes rail. The two wide sections give two people a full compartment each, and the narrow centre works as a separate column for shirts or everyday clothes rather than being buried in the bulk storage either side.

Construction is heavier than most at this level: a 15mm carcase, 22mm shelves and metal shelf supports rather than plastic pegs. All doors have soft-close cushioned hinges, and LED lighting kits can be added.

What are the mirror options?
Three: a décor front with no mirror, a mirror on the centre door only, or mirrors on the three centre doors. In every case the end doors keep their framed Shaker panels.

Which mirror option should I choose?
The single centre mirror is the most balanced, sitting at the exact middle of the front. Three mirrored doors give a wide dressing mirror and the most light, which suits a smaller or darker room. No mirror keeps the traditional panelled look across the whole wardrobe.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

• Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
• Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
• Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
• Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
• Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
• Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
• Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.

Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

• Check all packs before beginning assembly.
• Confirm that all required components are present.
