Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms before placing an order. They explain how orders are accepted, how our furniture and delivery services work, and the responsibilities that apply when shopping with us.
These terms cover wardrobes, bedroom furniture, accessories, recliner chairs, sofa beds and other furniture available on our website.

About Home of Wardrobes
References to “Home of Wardrobes”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean the business selling products through www.homeofwardrobes.co.uk. References to “you” and “customer” mean the person placing an order. Our contact email is info@homeofwardrobes.co.uk. Our business location is Pendle Village Mill, Hollin Bank, Brierfield, Nelson, Lancashire, BB9 5NG, United Kingdom.
These Terms govern website orders and associated delivery and assembly services. Product-specific details, selected options and applicable delivery charges displayed at checkout also form part of the order.
Product Information and Availability
We take reasonable care to ensure product descriptions, photographs, measurements, specifications and prices are accurate. Illustrations, room settings and digital colour representations are for guidance; finishes and colours may vary slightly due to lighting, screen settings and manufacturing materials. Minor variations that do not affect statutory product standards may occur.
Products, ranges, colours and accessories are subject to availability and may be amended or discontinued by manufacturers. We may contact you if a product or selected configuration is unavailable or requires clarification before acceptance.
Unless expressly included in the product description, decorative items, accessories, lighting, internal fittings, cornices, passepartout frames, assembly and other pictured features are not included. Customers must review the actual options selected and itemised at checkout.
Placing an Order and Contract Formation
Submitting an order constitutes your offer to purchase the selected goods and services. An automatically generated order acknowledgement confirms that we have received your request; it does not, by itself, constitute acceptance of that offer.
Orders are subject to our review of product availability, configuration, pricing, payment, delivery requirements and other relevant details. A contract is formed when we expressly confirm acceptance of your order by a separate order-processing or acceptance communication, unless a contract has already arisen through our conduct or applicable law.
Payment may be authorised or collected when an order is placed, before our review is complete. Payment collection alone does not necessarily mean that we have accepted the order. Where an order is declined before acceptance, we will arrange a refund of any payment collected.
We may decline an order before acceptance where, for example, a product is unavailable or discontinued, there is a genuine pricing or listing error, payment verification fails, delivery cannot reasonably be arranged, or essential order information is incorrect or incomplete. We will contact you using the details supplied with the order.
Prices, Promotions and Genuine Errors
All website prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable, unless clearly stated otherwise. Delivery and optional assembly charges are displayed separately where applicable. Prices and promotions may change without notice before an order is accepted.
We take reasonable steps to maintain accurate pricing. However, occasional technical, administrative or listing errors may result in an incorrect price, discount, quantity or product option being displayed.
If we identify a genuine pricing error before accepting an order, we may decline the order and offer the customer the opportunity to place a new order at the correct price, or refund any payment collected. Where an error is identified after acceptance, we will assess the circumstances and any rights or remedies available under applicable law; we do not claim an unrestricted right to cancel an existing contract.
Promotional offers are subject to their stated eligibility, dates and conditions. Discount codes cannot be combined unless expressly permitted. We reserve the right to correct demonstrable technical errors affecting promotions, subject to applicable contractual and consumer rights.
Customer Order Accuracy and Measurements
Customers are responsible for checking their order carefully before submitting it. This includes product dimensions, width, height, depth, door configuration, opening direction, colours, finishes, mirrors, internal fittings, drawers, accessories, quantities, delivery address and any assembly service selected.
Customers must measure the intended room and all access routes, including doors, corridors, staircases, lifts, landings and turning spaces. For wardrobes, customers must also allow sufficient ceiling height and working clearance for assembly, taking account of skirting boards, radiators, sloping ceilings, fixtures and uneven floors.
Product dimensions and installation requirements should be checked before purchase. We do not undertake a site survey or guarantee suitability for a particular room unless a separate written agreement expressly states otherwise.
Made-to-Order and Manufacturer-Supplied Furniture
Many Rauch and Wiemann wardrobes, bedroom furniture items and accessories are manufactured or procured after an order is placed, according to the size, colour, finish, configuration and options selected by the customer. These products may be sourced from factories in Germany and involve manufacturing and international transport commitments.
Once an order has been accepted and submitted to the manufacturer, cancellations and amendments are not accepted under our standard made-to-order cancellation policy. Customers should therefore check all selections and measurements before placing an order.
This commercial policy applies subject to the statutory cancellation rules relevant to the particular product. Goods genuinely made to a customer's specifications or clearly personalised may be exempt from the statutory change-of-mind cancellation right; manufacture after ordering or selection from standard catalogue options does not automatically establish that exemption.
Changes requested before submission to the manufacturer are not guaranteed and must be confirmed by us in writing. Where a permitted change affects the specification, price or lead time, the revised details must be agreed before proceeding.
Payment and Verification
Payment must be made using a payment method offered at checkout. We may carry out reasonable identity, address, fraud-prevention and payment-verification checks before accepting or fulfilling an order. Customers must provide accurate billing, contact and delivery details and respond to reasonable verification requests.
Where a payment is refused, reversed or cannot be verified, we may suspend processing or decline the order before acceptance. Any third-party payment or finance arrangements are also subject to the relevant provider's terms.
Manufacturing, Dispatch and Lead Times
Lead times displayed on product pages are estimates based on information available when the order is placed. Rauch and Wiemann products are often manufactured and dispatched from Germany. Production, transport to the UK, receipt at a delivery hub and final customer delivery are separate stages.
Dispatch is not the same as delivery. A dispatch estimate refers to the anticipated release or shipment of the goods, not a guaranteed date of arrival at your property. Once the goods reach the appropriate UK delivery network, the appointed courier or assembly team will contact the customer to arrange an appointment according to available routes.
Estimated dates may be affected by manufacturing schedules, component availability, transport disruption, customs processes and delivery-route planning. We will comply with applicable legal obligations regarding delivery within agreed timescales and remedies for undue delay. An estimated timeframe is not a guaranteed delivery date unless expressly agreed as such.
Delivery Services and Appointments
Available services vary by product and are identified on the relevant product page or at checkout. These may include delivery only, room-of-choice delivery, delivery with paid assembly and delivery with assembly included at no additional charge.
We use different courier and installation teams depending on the service selected. A delivery-only team may not be equipped or authorised to provide assembly. Customers cannot assume that a service can be changed when the delivery team arrives.
Delivery and assembly appointments are arranged in advance by our appointed partners. Customers must provide accurate contact details, respond to booking communications and ensure a responsible adult is present at the agreed appointment. Exact arrival times may vary with routes and operational conditions.
Full delivery areas, charges, service descriptions and appointment arrangements are set out in our Delivery & Assembly Policy.
Property Access and Room Readiness
Before a confirmed appointment, customers must ensure that the delivery route is safe, accessible and free from obstruction. The intended assembly room must be cleared and ready, with sufficient floor space, ceiling clearance, lighting and safe working conditions. Existing furniture, personal belongings and obstructions must be removed in advance.
Our delivery and assembly partners may decline to carry out work where access is unsafe, unsuitable or insufficient, or where completion could reasonably risk injury or property damage. They are not responsible for moving existing furniture, altering premises or undertaking building works unless expressly agreed in writing.
Where a delivery or assembly cannot be completed for reasons within the customer's control, including an unprepared room, insufficient access, absence at the appointment or refusal of the agreed service, the visit may be recorded as unsuccessful and additional charges may apply as described below.
Failed Deliveries, Cancelled Appointments and Revisit Charges
Our delivery partners allocate vehicles, routes, personnel and, where applicable, specialist assembly teams to confirmed appointments. If a customer cancels at short notice, refuses an agreed delivery, is unavailable, or prevents completion of the booked service, reasonable charges may apply for costs incurred and any necessary redelivery or return visit.
Where the customer accepts delivery but the room is not ready, or declines the agreed assembly service, the booked assembly appointment may be treated as a customer-caused unsuccessful visit. A further assembly appointment is a separate chargeable visit.
Where a product includes Free Assembly, the included service covers the initial scheduled assembly appointment. It does not include unlimited return visits. A further visit made necessary by the customer's failure to provide access, prepare the room or accept the booked service will be chargeable.
Where Paid Assembly has been booked and the customer declines it on arrival or prevents its completion, there is no automatic entitlement to reimbursement of the booked service charge. Any amount retained will reflect the applicable legal rules, work undertaken and reasonable costs or losses incurred. A later request for assembly requires a new appointment and an additional charge.
Where several items are included in one order, an issue affecting one item does not automatically make a separate customer-caused failed visit for another item free of charge. For example, a remedial visit to replace a defective panel on one wardrobe does not automatically include a second wardrobe's assembly where the original appointment failed because its room was not ready.
No customer revisit charge will be imposed for a necessary corrective visit caused by a product defect or an error attributable to us or our appointed delivery or assembly partners. Charges will be reasonable and explained before a new paid appointment is confirmed. See the Delivery & Assembly Policy for operational details.
Assembly and Installation
Assembly is provided only where included with the product or purchased as an additional service. The service covers the furniture and tasks expressly included in the booking. It does not ordinarily include electrical work, alterations to walls or floors, moving existing furniture, removal of packaging or disposal of old furniture unless specifically agreed.
Customers must follow any manufacturer safety and installation guidance, including instructions on securing furniture to a wall where applicable. Where a required fixing cannot safely be completed because of unsuitable walls, concealed services or site conditions, the team may be unable to complete that element of the installation.
Customers should inspect completed work with the installation team where practicable and report any visible concerns promptly. This does not limit statutory rights in relation to defects discovered later.
Customer Cancellations, Returns and Exchanges
Our standard commercial policy does not accept cancellation or amendment of made-to-order furniture after the order has been accepted and submitted to the manufacturer. Other products are subject to the relevant cancellation and return conditions described in our Returns & Exchange Policy.
For qualifying distance purchases, statutory cancellation rights may apply, generally allowing a consumer to cancel within 14 days after delivery. The law contains exemptions, including for goods genuinely made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised. A product is not automatically exempt merely because it is ordered from a supplier or manufactured after purchase.
Where a valid statutory cancellation applies, refunds, return costs and any permissible deductions will be handled in accordance with applicable law. Restocking charges will not be imposed on a valid statutory cancellation. Any separately offered discretionary return arrangement may have additional clearly stated conditions, but those conditions do not replace statutory entitlements.
Assembly or other service charges will be treated according to the service booked, the timing of any cancellation, whether performance has begun with the necessary consent and the applicable legal requirements.
Damaged, Missing or Defective Components
Furniture can consist of multiple separately manufactured panels, doors, fittings and accessories. If an individual component is damaged, marked, missing or defective, we will assess the issue and, where appropriate, arrange repair or replacement of the affected component rather than automatically replacing the complete furniture item.
Replacement components for Rauch and Wiemann products may need to be manufactured in Germany, transported to the UK and booked onto a delivery or installation route. We will arrange remedies within the timescales and conditions required by law, including the requirement that repair or replacement be provided within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience where applicable.
A defect affecting one panel or component does not automatically mean the entire order must be cancelled. However, the appropriate remedy depends on the nature and timing of the defect and the customer's statutory rights, including any applicable right to reject, repair, replacement or refund.
Customers should report damage or missing parts promptly, provide photographs where reasonably possible and retain packaging where practical. Prompt reporting helps us investigate and obtain replacement parts, but does not remove statutory rights where a problem is reported later.
Necessary remedial visits to address qualifying defects or damage caused by our delivery or assembly partners will not be charged to the customer. Customer-caused failed appointments for other items remain separate. Further details appear in our Returns & Exchange Policy.
Manufacturer Guarantees, Care and Use
Some products carry manufacturer guarantees of different lengths and scopes. The applicable guarantee, where offered, is identified in the product documentation or listing. Manufacturer guarantees are additional to statutory consumer rights and do not replace them.
Customers must follow the manufacturer's assembly, operation, maintenance and cleaning instructions. Damage caused by misuse, improper self-assembly, accidental impact, unsuitable cleaning products, excessive loads or unauthorised alterations may not be covered by a manufacturer guarantee, although the circumstances of each claim will be assessed under applicable law.
Recliner chairs, powered mechanisms and sofa beds must be used in accordance with their product instructions and safety guidance.
Risk, Ownership and Delivery Responsibility
For consumer orders delivered by a carrier arranged by us, responsibility for loss of or damage to goods generally remains with us until the goods come into the physical possession of the customer or a person identified by the customer to receive them, as required by law. Ownership passes in accordance with applicable law and the agreed payment terms.
Customers should notify us promptly if goods arrive damaged, incomplete or incorrect so we can investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution.
Circumstances Beyond Our Reasonable Control
Manufacturing, international transport and delivery can be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, industrial disruption, border delays, supplier interruptions and transport-network incidents. We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption and communicate material changes where appropriate.
Nothing in this section removes legal rights relating to delivery delays, non-performance or refunds.
Website Use, Intellectual Property and Privacy
Website text, imagery, branding, product information and other content are protected by applicable intellectual property rights. Content may not be copied or commercially reused without permission, except where the law permits.
Customers must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access or provide false or misleading information. We may use third-party platforms and payment providers to operate the website. Purchases are made from Home of Wardrobes, not Shopify.

Liability and Statutory Consumer Rights
We are responsible for supplying goods and services that meet the standards required by applicable UK consumer law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or statutory rights relating to faulty or misdescribed goods and services.
Any exclusions or limitations of liability in these Terms apply only to the extent permitted by law and subject to the requirement that consumer contract terms be fair and transparent.
Changes to These Terms, Governing Law and Contact
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will apply to future orders and will not retrospectively alter the terms of an existing contract without a lawful basis and any required agreement.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections and jurisdictional rights applicable to customers living elsewhere in the United Kingdom.
