About the Black Finish
Three metres of black is a decision the whole room has to accommodate. This wardrobe will not sit quietly in a bedroom – it defines it. Against white or off-white walls, pale flooring and a restrained palette the effect is architectural and genuinely impressive; in a small or north-facing room it will be too much, and one of the lighter finishes will serve the space better.
Where black earns its place on this design is the panel structure. On a pale finish the horizontal divisions between the three door panels are subtle shadow lines. On black they become the only thing catching light on the entire front – fine bright edges running across a dark plane, repeated across three doors. It gives a very large wardrobe a legible geometry rather than presenting one flat dark mass, and it is the finish that makes the design most visible.
The handle choice matters more here than on any lighter colour. Chrome gives the strongest contrast – three bright vertical lines against dark, and the pairing most people picture when they imagine a black wardrobe.
