About the Black and Champagne Glass Combination
The two-tone Contido works harder at three metres than it does at two. The doors are champagne glass set within a black carcase, so the wardrobe is framed in dark at every edge – and on a front this wide that border becomes structural rather than decorative. It contains three metres of pale glass, gives it a defined boundary, and stops what could be a very large expanse from spreading into the room.
The two-tone versions are produced in glass only, and that is the right decision at this size. A matt panel across three metres would flatten the champagne and leave the black frame doing all the work; glass gives the colour depth and movement, so the front has something to hold the eye across its full width. The tone shifts through the day too – cooler in morning light, warmer under lamps – which on a front this size is genuinely visible.
Practically it solves the problem a large dark wardrobe creates. All the light-absorbing surface you would get from an all-black three-door is champagne glass here; the black is confined to the frame, where it adds definition without weight. Glass gives an unbroken champagne front. Glass has an evenness and depth no coating reproduces, and it will not scuff at the edges or change tone over years of daylight.
Glass with Mirror adds mirrored panels. Across three doors that is a substantial reflective expanse – enough to visually push the opposite wall back and redistribute the light in the room, as well as removing the need for a freestanding mirror. Against a black carcase a mirror is particularly effective, because a dark frame recedes and lets the reflection lead rather than competing with it.
