The Mirror Panel

The mirror on this wardrobe is a full-height panel set into one of the two sliding doors, rather than a whole door given over to mirror. The white finish runs down one side of it, so the mirror is framed by the wardrobe rather than replacing a section of it.

That arrangement is more useful than it first appears. A full mirrored door on a sliding wardrobe gives you a great deal of reflection, which in a bedroom is not always what you want — particularly facing a bed. An inset panel gives you a genuine full-length dressing mirror, enough to see a whole outfit, while the rest of the front stays white. The room gains the light and the depth a mirror brings without becoming reflective wall.

On white in particular that balance works well. White and mirror are both bright surfaces, so the panel does not read as a hard contrast against the door — the front stays calm, and the mirror becomes a detail rather than the whole design.

Because the doors slide, the mirror moves across the front as you use the wardrobe. And with nothing swinging out into the room, there is no risk of a mirrored door catching on furniture — a real consideration in a bedroom, and one of the reasons a mirrored sliding wardrobe is safer than a hinged one.

The slim aluminium handles are the only other detail on the front, giving the doors definition without competing with the mirror.

Three Widths

All three sizes have two sliding doors; what changes is the width and how the interior is divided behind them.

175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the right proportion for a standard double bedroom, and the most compact of the three. In a smaller room the mirror earns its place twice over, since it removes the need for one standing separately.

218cm opens the two compartments out to 109cm each. That is unusually generous: wide enough for a full season's coats or a long run of dresses in one section, without the rail being divided.

261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm behind the two doors. For two people sharing this is the one to have — a compartment each with a third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing.

Every compartment, at every width, has a height-adjustable shelf and a hanging rail, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's.

At 210cm high and 59cm deep, Aurelia fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the depth means garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the sliding doors.

German Build at a Sensible Price

Aurelia sits in the Rauch Blue range – Rauch's value line, where the brief is reliable quality and good value rather than premium specification. What it is not is a budget wardrobe dressed up: it is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M.

Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in. The Golden M is Germany's independent furniture quality mark. Both are external certifications rather than the manufacturer's own claims, and most wardrobes at this price carry neither.

Other Options

If you would prefer no mirror at all, Aurelia is also produced as a plain white sliding wardrobe.

The mirrored version is also made in Champagne, a soft faintly golden neutral, and Metallic Grey, a deep graphite considerably closer to black than the name suggests. There is also an Artisan Oak version with mirror, which pairs a warm wood-effect door with the same mirror panel.

Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.

Delivery and Assembly

Free delivery is included, and our professional assembly service is available at additional cost — our fitters deliver to your room of choice, build the wardrobe, remove the packaging and show you how everything works before they leave. On a wardrobe with a mirrored door it is worth considering.

Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks, which is quicker than most German wardrobes we sell. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.

Made To Order

This item is categorised as 'Made To Order.' Kindly be aware that this item is crafted according to your specifications by Rauch, including your selected options. Once the order is processed, cancellations or modifications cannot be accommodated. We cannot accept responsibility for additional costs resulting from incorrect information supplied when the order was placed.

FAQs

How is the mirror arranged?
As a full-height panel set into one of the two sliding doors, with the white finish running alongside it. It is not a whole mirrored door – the mirror is framed by the wardrobe rather than replacing a section of the front.

Is it big enough to use as a dressing mirror?
Yes. The panel runs the full height of the door, so you can see a whole outfit – but without the wardrobe becoming a mirrored wall facing the bed.

How many doors does it have?
Two sliding doors at every width. The wider sizes give more internal compartments behind those two doors rather than additional doors.

Which width should I choose?
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the most compact option. 218cm widens them to 109cm each, which suits long uninterrupted hanging. 261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm, which is the better arrangement for two people sharing.

What is inside the wardrobe?
Every compartment has one height-adjustable shelf and one hanging rail. Because the shelf adjusts, you can raise it for full-length coats and dresses or lower it to add folded storage.

Why choose sliding doors on a mirrored wardrobe?
Nothing swings out into the room, so no floor space is lost and there is no risk of a mirrored door catching on furniture as it opens – a real consideration in a bedroom.

Is there a version without a mirror?
Yes. The same wardrobe is produced as a plain white sliding wardrobe.

What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line – functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with good value. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M certifications as the rest of the brand.

How deep is it?
59cm, which allows garments to hang square on the rail without pressing against the sliding doors.

Is it available in other colours?
Yes. The mirrored version is also made in Champagne and Metallic Grey, and there is an Artisan Oak version.

What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is included. Our professional assembly service is available at additional cost, where our fitters build the wardrobe in your chosen room and remove the packaging.

How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks — quicker than most German wardrobes. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date, as the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.

Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected width carefully before ordering.

How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

Free Assembly

Selected wardrobes include professional delivery and assembly in your room of choice at no additional charge.

Assembly Available at Cost

On eligible wardrobes, you can select Professional Delivery & Assembly directly from the product page. Assembly prices start from £79 and vary depending on the size of the wardrobe.

Delivery Only

Some wardrobes are supplied flat-packed for customer assembly. Where professional assembly is not available, this will be clearly stated on the product page.

Why Choose Professional Delivery & Assembly?

Large wardrobes can involve heavy components, detailed instructions and a considerable amount of floor space during assembly. Our professional service is designed to make the whole process easier from delivery through to final setup.

How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
  • Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
  • Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
  • Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
  • Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
  • Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.
Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

  • Check all packs before beginning assembly.
  • Confirm that all required components are present.
  • Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
  • Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
  • Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
  • Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.
Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.

Professional Wardrobe Assembly FAQs

How much does professional wardrobe assembly cost?

Our Professional Delivery & Assembly service starts from £79. The cost varies depending on the size of the wardrobe. Where the service is available, the correct assembly price is displayed automatically on the product page.

How do I add assembly to my wardrobe order?

Where Professional Delivery & Assembly is available, you will see the option directly on the wardrobe product page. Select it before adding the wardrobe to your basket. You can also review or change the selected delivery service from your shopping cart.

Is assembly available on every wardrobe?

No. Each product page clearly states the service available for that wardrobe. Some wardrobes include Free Assembly, some offer Professional Assembly at an additional cost, and others are supplied as Delivery Only.

Does professional assembly include delivery to my room?

Yes. Professional Delivery & Assembly includes delivery into the room of choice, subject to suitable and safe access.

Will you remove the packaging?

Yes. Once assembly is complete, our team will remove the packaging and leave the room clean and tidy.

What happens if my wardrobe is damaged during assembly?

If accidental damage occurs during assembly by our team, the assemblers will report the issue to us. We will arrange the appropriate replacement part and aim to place the order within approximately 48 hours of receiving the required information.

How long can replacement parts take?

Many replacement wardrobe components are supplied from Germany. Depending on the part required, the lead time can be similar to the original wardrobe order.

How much room do I need for wardrobe assembly?

Large wardrobes are normally assembled lying flat before being raised into position. You should provide sufficient clear floor space, approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible, and around 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished wardrobe height.

What if the room is not suitable when the assembly team arrives?

If there is insufficient space, unsuitable access or an obstruction that prevents safe assembly, the team may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot proceed because the required access or assembly space was not available.

How long does delivery with assembly take?

Professional Delivery & Assembly orders are handled by a specialist team and can take slightly longer than standard delivery. Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks.

During National Holidays — particularly Christmas — German factories close, so please allow additional time for dispatch.
