Oak and Mirror
Both sliding doors are faced in Artisan Oak — a mid-toned wood effect with pronounced grain and genuine knot detail — with a full-height mirror panel set into one of them. The oak runs alongside the mirror rather than being replaced by it, so the wood remains the dominant material and the mirror reads as a detail within it.
That is the right balance on a wood-effect wardrobe. Oak gives warmth and texture; mirror gives light and depth. Give over a whole door to mirror and you lose half the grain that made you choose oak in the first place. A panel keeps the wood across the full front while still giving you a genuine full-length dressing mirror — enough to see a whole outfit.
The grain is what makes this version worth the look. Artisan Oak has visible knots and real tonal movement rather than a flat printed wood tone, and set directly beside a mirror — the flattest, most uniform surface in any room — that irregularity registers more strongly than it would on its own.
Because the doors slide, the mirror moves across the front as you use the wardrobe, and the balance of oak to reflection changes with it.
Three Carcase Options
The doors are the same on all three. What changes is the carcase and the visible edges around them.
Artisan Oak carcase is the warmest and most cohesive. Oak doors on an oak body means the whole wardrobe reads as a single timber piece with a mirror set into it, with the grain carried through to the edges. It is the option for a room built around natural materials, wooden flooring or linen.
White carcase is the brightest. A clean white body framing oak doors and a mirror gives the lightest result of the three, and in a smaller or north-facing bedroom it does most for the space. The oak becomes a warm front against a pale frame rather than the whole piece.
Metallic Grey carcase is the boldest. Metallic Grey is a deep graphite, considerably closer to black than the name suggests, and a dark frame around warm oak throws the grain forward — the most contemporary and most striking of the three. It needs a room with reasonable light to look its best.
Three Widths
All three sizes have two sliding doors; what changes is the width and how the interior is divided behind them.
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the right proportion for a standard double bedroom, and the most compact of the three. In a smaller room the mirror earns its place twice over, since it removes the need for one standing separately.
218cm opens the two compartments out to 109cm each. That is unusually generous: wide enough for a full season's coats or a long run of dresses in one section, without the rail being divided.
261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm behind the two doors. For two people sharing this is the one to have — a compartment each with a third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing. It is also the width where the oak grain has the most room to show.
Every compartment, at every width, has a height-adjustable shelf and a hanging rail, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's.
At 210cm high and 59cm deep, Aurelia fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the depth means garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the sliding doors.
With nothing swinging out into the room, there is no risk of a mirrored door catching on furniture — a real consideration in a bedroom, and one of the reasons a mirrored sliding wardrobe is safer than a hinged one.
German Build at a Sensible Price
Aurelia sits in the Rauch Blue range – Rauch's value line, where the brief is reliable quality and good value rather than premium specification. What it is not is a budget wardrobe dressed up: it is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M.
Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in. The Golden M is Germany's independent furniture quality mark. Both are external certifications rather than the manufacturer's own claims, and most wardrobes at this price carry neither.
Other Options
If you would prefer no mirror at all, Aurelia is also produced as a plain Artisan Oak sliding wardrobe.
The mirrored version is also made in plain colours: White, Champagne and Metallic Grey.
Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
Delivery and Assembly
Free delivery is included, and our professional assembly service is available at additional cost — our fitters deliver to your room of choice, build the wardrobe, remove the packaging and show you how everything works before they leave. On a wardrobe with a mirrored door it is worth considering.
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks, which is quicker than most German wardrobes we sell. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.

FAQs
How is the mirror arranged?
Both sliding doors are faced in Artisan Oak, with a full-height mirror panel set into one of them. The oak runs alongside the mirror rather than being replaced by it, so the wood remains the dominant material across the front.
What are the three carcase options?
Artisan Oak, White or Metallic Grey. The doors and the mirror panel are identical on all three – only the carcase and the visible edges change.
Which carcase should I choose?
Artisan Oak is the warmest and most cohesive, reading as a single timber piece. White is the brightest and does most for a small or north-facing room. Metallic Grey is a deep near-black frame that throws the oak grain forward – the boldest of the three.
Is Artisan Oak solid wood?
Artisan Oak is a wood-effect finish with pronounced grain and knot detail. It is dimensionally stable in a centrally heated bedroom, needs no treatment, and will not develop the shrinkage gaps solid timber can.
Is it big enough to use as a dressing mirror?
Yes. The panel runs the full height of the door, so you can see a whole outfit – but without losing the oak grain across the rest of the front.
How many doors does it have?
Two sliding doors at every width. The wider sizes give more internal compartments behind those two doors rather than additional doors.
Which width should I choose?
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the most compact option. 218cm widens them to 109cm each, which suits long uninterrupted hanging. 261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm, which is the better arrangement for two people sharing.
What is inside the wardrobe?
Every compartment has one height-adjustable shelf and one hanging rail. Because the shelf adjusts, you can raise it for full-length coats and dresses or lower it to add folded storage.
Why choose sliding doors on a mirrored wardrobe?
Nothing swings out into the room, so no floor space is lost and there is no risk of a mirrored door catching on furniture as it opens – a real consideration in a bedroom.
Is there a version without a mirror?
Yes. The same wardrobe is produced as a plain Artisan Oak sliding wardrobe.
What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line – functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with good value. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M certifications as the rest of the brand.
How deep is it?
59cm, which allows garments to hang square on the rail without pressing against the sliding doors.
Is it available in plain colours?
Yes. The mirrored Aurelia is also made in White, Champagne and Metallic Grey.
What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is included. Our professional assembly service is available at additional cost, where our fitters build the wardrobe in your chosen room and remove the packaging.
How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks — quicker than most German wardrobes. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date, as the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
