About the Black and Silk Grey Glass Combination
Of the three two-tone Contido combinations, this is the most subtle – and at three metres, subtlety is worth more than it is on a smaller wardrobe. Where white glass against black is a hard monochrome contrast and champagne against black is a warm-cool opposition, silk grey and black are two points on the same scale. Across a front this wide the wardrobe reads as a gradation rather than a collision, which is what allows it to fill a wall without dominating the room.
That tonal relationship is what makes it work where the other two would fight. A hard black-and-white front at three metres needs a scheme confident enough to carry it. This one does not – the grey softens the transition to the dark frame, so the wardrobe has definition without demanding the room be built around it. It is the two-tone for people who want the framed look without the drama.
The two-tone versions are produced in glass only, and a mid tone is where glass shows its value most clearly.
