About the White Glass and Black Combination
White glass against black is the sharpest pairing in the Contido range, and the most graphic. The doors are white glass, set within a black carcase, so the wardrobe is framed in dark at every edge – the sides, the top, and the vertical line where the two doors meet. Monochrome is the most exacting scheme in interiors because there is nowhere for a poor line to hide, and this is a wardrobe that gets the lines right: crisp white glass planes held inside a precise dark border.
The two-tone versions are produced in glass only, and on white that matters more than on any other colour. White is the least forgiving finish in which to disguise an uneven surface – any inconsistency in a coated panel would show plainly, particularly next to a hard black edge that gives the eye a reference. Genuine glass gives a flat, entirely uniform white that will not scuff and will not develop the faint cream cast white surfaces acquire over years of daylight.
The contrast also does something useful to the door design. On a single-colour wardrobe the three horizontal panels register as soft shadow lines; here, with a black frame around them, the whole geometry becomes legible – the tall centre panel and the two shorter ones read as deliberate proportions rather than incidental joins.
Practically, the split gives you the best of both. The large surfaces are white glass, so the room stays bright and the wardrobe does not press in the way an all-black unit would. The dark is confined to the frame, where it adds definition without absorbing light. In a smaller bedroom this is the way to have a black wardrobe without the room paying for it.
The handle choice matters more here than on any single-colour version, because you are choosing which of two existing colours to reinforce. Black ties the handles to the carcase, so all the dark elements read as one frame and the white front stays completely uninterrupted. Chrome is the sharpest, a bright metallic line that sits between the two extremes and gives the front a third register. Aluminium is the softest, a brushed silver that disappears against white and keeps the contrast purely black-and-white. Chrome and black are priced the same.
Glass, or Glass with Mirror
Both front options are genuine glass, so the choice is simply whether you want a mirror built into the wardrobe.
Glass gives an unbroken white front – flat, uniform and subtly reflective, the cleanest monochrome result.
Glass with Mirror adds mirrored panels. White and mirror is the brightest combination available in a wardrobe – both surfaces return light rather than absorbing it – and with a dark frame holding the edges the effect is contained rather than sprawling. In a small or north-facing bedroom no other option in this range will do as much for the space.
Interior and Construction
Contido sits in Rauch Orange Plus, and the difference between this and a standard sliding wardrobe is almost entirely in what comes as standard rather than what you pay extra for. Contido includes the premium interior package in the price: a set of two sliding door dampers, an interior drawer, and a wardrobe interior division – three upgrades most manufacturers charge separately for, and the three most people end up wanting.
The dampers are the one you notice daily. Sliding doors without them can be pushed shut hard and land with a bang; a damped door draws itself closed over the last few centimetres and settles quietly. On a glass or mirrored front that matters twice over, since a slammed glazed door is a genuine risk as well as a noise.
The interior drawer and the division do the organisational work. A drawer inside a wardrobe keeps small items contained rather than piled on a shelf, and the vertical division splits a compartment so shorter garments can hang above shelving instead of wasting the full drop. Together they are the reason a Contido wardrobe usually removes the need for a separate chest of drawers.
A Passepartout frame is available as an optional extra, with or without integrated lighting – a surround fitted across the top and both sides of the wardrobe, closing the gap to the ceiling and walls to give a built-in appearance. On a wardrobe already framed in black, it extends that framing to the room itself.

Which parts are white and which are black?
The door fronts are white glass; the carcase is black. The sides, top and the edges around the doors are dark, framing the white front. The large surfaces stay light, so the room keeps its brightness while the wardrobe gains the definition of a dark finish.
Is a matt décor front available in this combination?
No. The two-tone Contido wardrobes are produced in glass only – either plain glass or glass with mirror. If you want a matt finish, the single-colour white version offers a décor front.
Is it real glass?
Yes. The fronts are genuine glass, not a printed or lacquered panel. On white that matters particularly – glass gives a flat, entirely uniform surface that will not scuff at the edges or yellow over time, which is difficult to achieve in a coated panel.
