About the Champagne Glass and Black Combination
This is the two-tone Contido, and it is a considerably more interesting piece than either colour on its own. The doors are champagne glass – a pale, faintly golden tone in genuine glass – set within a black carcase, so the wardrobe is framed in dark at every edge: the sides, the top, and the vertical line where the two doors meet. The effect is close to a picture frame. The luminous front sits inside a dark border, and the contrast makes both elements look more deliberate than they would alone.
The two-tone versions are produced in glass only, and that is the right decision. A matt panel would flatten the champagne and leave the black frame doing all the work; glass gives the colour depth and movement, so the front has something to hold the eye within the border rather than simply filling it. It also makes this the most premium configuration Contido offers – the glass front is what the black frame is there to showcase.
It works because the two are opposites rather than near-misses. A champagne door against a grey or off-white carcase would look like a mismatch; against black it reads unmistakably as a design decision. And because the black is confined to the frame rather than the doors, the wardrobe gains all the definition of a dark finish without the weight – the large surfaces stay pale and reflective, so the room keeps its light.
The handle choice is more consequential here than on a single-colour wardrobe. Black is the pairing to consider first: it ties the handles to the carcase, so the dark elements read as one frame around the champagne rather than as separate details. Chrome introduces a third element, bright against both the glass and the dark frame, which sharpens the whole front. Aluminium is the quietest, a soft brushed silver that leaves the two-tone contrast to do all the work. Chrome and black are priced the same.
Glass, or Glass with Mirror
Both front options are genuine glass, so the choice is simply whether you want a mirror built into the wardrobe.
Glass gives an unbroken champagne front. Glass has an evenness and depth no coating reproduces, and on a pale colour it adds luminosity – the champagne holds the light rather than flattening it, and the tone shifts gently through the day, cooler in morning light and warmer under lamps. It will not scuff at the edges or change tone over years of daylight.
Glass with Mirror adds mirrored panels to the front. In a bedroom that visually doubles the depth of the room, redistributes the available light, and removes the need for a freestanding mirror taking up floor space. Against a black carcase a mirror is particularly effective, because a dark frame recedes and lets the reflection lead rather than competing with it.
If the room is small or north-facing, the mirrored option will do more for the space. If the wardrobe faces a window or a bedside lamp and additional reflections would be a nuisance, the plain glass front is the quieter choice.

The dampers are the one you notice daily. Sliding doors without them can be pushed shut hard and land with a bang; a damped door draws itself closed over the last few centimetres and settles quietly. On a glass or mirrored front that matters twice over, since a slammed glazed door is a genuine risk as well as a noise.
The interior drawer and the division do the organisational work. A drawer inside a wardrobe keeps small items contained rather than piled on a shelf, and the vertical division splits a compartment so shorter garments can hang above shelving instead of wasting the full drop. Which parts are champagne and which are black?
The door fronts are champagne glass; the carcase is black. That means the sides, top and the edges around the doors are dark, framing the pale glass front like a picture frame. The large surfaces stay light, so the wardrobe gains definition without the visual weight of an all-dark finish.
Is a matt décor front available in this combination?
No. The two-tone Contido wardrobes are produced in glass only – either plain glass or glass with mirror. If you want a matt finish, the single-colour champagne version offers a décor front.
Is it real glass?
