About the Metallic Grey Finish with Centre Mirrors
Three full-height mirrors at the centre of a graphite wardrobe is the most striking configuration in the Glamour range. The mirrored section runs well over a metre wide, framed by a single near-black door at each end – a high-contrast composition that neither the plain dark version nor the white mirrored version can match. If you want the wardrobe to be the feature of the bedroom, this is it.
The contrast is also what makes a dark colour workable at this width. Metallic Grey is a deep graphite, considerably closer to black than to silver, and across 226cm of unbroken front that darkness absorbs a great deal of light. Three mirrors give most of it back – so the graphite appears only at the two ends, and the room gains reflected depth rather than losing it.
Practically, a reflective panel of that size does more than any freestanding mirror could. It visually pushes the opposite wall back, redistributes the available light, and frees the floor space a separate mirror would occupy. Positioned centrally, it is exactly where you would naturally stand to use it.
The long chrome handles tie the whole front together. Five bright vertical lines running the full height of the wardrobe connect the mirrored centre to the graphite doors either side, so the piece reads as one designed object rather than two materials meeting. Against a near-black surface the chrome catches every light source in the room, and on the mirrored doors it gives the reflection a structure it would otherwise lack.
The two outer doors are yours to specify, and on a dark colour the three options give three genuinely different results.
Metallic grey décor is the quietest. A soft, non-reflective panel finish matching the carcase, it frames the mirrored centre without competing with it – the sharpest contrast of the three, flat darkness against bright reflection. It is also the most forgiving practically, since matt surfaces do not show fingerprints in raking light the way reflective dark ones do.
High gloss graphite is the dramatic one. A reflective lacquered surface either side of three mirrors makes the entire 226cm front luminous, close to a piano finish at the edges. It is the most theatrical wardrobe in the range, though it needs regular attention to look its best.
Basalt glass is the premium option, and the one this collection is named for. Genuine tempered glass alongside genuine mirror is a natural pairing – both are glass, both share the same depth and evenness, so the front reads as one continuous glazed surface rather than a mirror set into a cabinet. On a dark colour it also gives the most depth of the three, with light travelling across the surface rather than stopping at it.
Internally the wardrobe divides into three compartments – 90cm, 45cm and 90cm. Each has a storage shelf and a hanging rail, all height-adjustable, so the interior adapts to what you actually own rather than what the factory assumed. The narrow 45cm section is more useful than its width suggests: it gives you a separate column for shirts, blouses or one person's everyday rotation, kept apart from the bulk storage either side.
At 226cm wide, 210cm high and 54cm deep, this fits a longer bedroom wall without demanding a specialist ceiling height. Manufactured 100% in Germany and certified with the Blue Angel and Golden M ecolabels, it meets independently verified standards for low emissions and furniture quality – worth having on a piece of furniture this size in a room you sleep in. It carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.
If you would prefer the wardrobe without mirrors, the same model is produced as a 5 door wardrobe with your chosen finish across all five doors. The mirrored version is also made as a 4 door wardrobe at 181cm, with two mirrored centre doors, and a large 6 door wardrobe at 271cm.
The collection is also produced in White with the same mirrored centre doors, where the three outer fronts are matt décor, high gloss white and white crystal glass. Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
Internal Storage Layout
-
Three compartments: Arranged at 90cm, 45cm and 90cm across the 226cm width
-
Left compartment (90cm): 1 storage shelf and 1 hanging rail for coats, dresses, shirts and suits
-
Centre compartment (45cm): Identical fittings – 1 storage shelf and 1 hanging rail. A narrower column suited to shirts, blouses or one person's everyday rotation
-
Right compartment (90cm): Identical fittings – 1 storage shelf and 1 hanging rail
-
Total hanging space: Three separate rails rather than one continuous run, allowing the wardrobe to be divided between users or garment types
-
Adjustability: All shelves and rails are height-adjustable, so one section can be set for full-length garments while another is given over to folded storage
-
Additional fittings: Further interior accessories are available from the Rauch range

FAQs
Which doors are mirrored?
The three centre doors, with your chosen finish on the two outer doors. All three mirrors are full height and run side by side, giving a continuous reflective panel well over a metre wide with a graphite door framing each end.
Is this wardrobe grey or black?
Despite the name, Metallic Grey is a deep graphite rather than a mid grey – considerably closer to black, and in most rooms it reads as a near-black. If you are looking for a dark or black mirrored wardrobe, this is the colourway.
What are the three front finishes?
The outer doors are available in metallic grey décor, a soft non-reflective panel finish matching the carcase; high gloss graphite, a reflective lacquered surface close to a piano finish; or basalt glass, genuine tempered glass with the most depth of the three. The mirrored centre doors, carcase, interior and dimensions are identical on all three.
Which finish works best with the mirrors?
Basalt glass pairs most naturally, since both surfaces are glass and read as one continuous glazed front. Matt décor gives the sharpest contrast – flat darkness against bright reflection – and is the most forgiving of fingerprints. High gloss makes the entire front reflective, which is the most dramatic but needs the most upkeep.
Is the basalt glass real glass?
Yes. The basalt fronts are genuine tempered glass, not a printed or lacquered panel. On a dark colour the difference is particularly noticeable – glass gives a depth and movement across the surface that a coated panel cannot reproduce.
Is a dark wardrobe this wide right for my room?
The mirrored version is considerably more forgiving than the plain one. With three full-height mirrors at the centre, the graphite appears only at the two ends and the mirrors return a good deal of the light the dark doors would otherwise absorb. It still works best against white or off-white walls and pale flooring; in a genuinely dark or north-facing room, the white version will serve the space better.
Is there a version without mirrors?
Yes. The same wardrobe is produced as a 5 door wardrobe with your chosen finish across all five doors.
How is the wardrobe divided inside?
Into three compartments of 90cm, 45cm and 90cm. Each has one storage shelf and one hanging rail, all height-adjustable. The narrow centre section gives you a separate column for shirts or everyday clothes, kept apart from the bulk storage either side.
What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is to your door – our drivers will not take the wardrobe into the house. Room of choice delivery is available at additional cost, where the wardrobe is brought to the room you specify. Full assembly is also available at additional cost, where our professional wardrobe fitters build the unit in your chosen room.
How much space do I need to install it?
Allow 25cm of clearance for installation. On a wardrobe of this width it is worth measuring the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards, radiators and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.
Is it available in other sizes?
Yes. The mirrored Glamour is produced as a 4 door wardrobe at 181cm, with two mirrored centre doors, and a large 6 door wardrobe at 271cm.
Is it available in other colours?
Yes. The collection is also produced in White, with a choice of matt décor, high gloss white or white crystal glass outer doors.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected finish carefully before ordering.
What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms.
Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Coordinating bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
