About the Full Mirror Front
Two and a half metres of uninterrupted mirror is a significant thing to put in a bedroom. Every door and every one of the six drawers is mirrored, floor to 223cm, so the wardrobe presents a single continuous reflective plane rather than furniture with mirrors attached to it. The effect on a room is disproportionate to the floor space it occupies: it doubles the apparent depth, redistributes all the available light, and visually removes 251cm of storage from view.
The drawers are what make that possible. Mirroring a drawer front is considerably harder than mirroring a door – more edges, more joins, more places for the line to break – and most manufacturers do not attempt it at all. With six mirrored drawer fronts across two banks, this wardrobe keeps the reflection unbroken from the floor upwards. There is no point where mirror stops and cabinet begins.
Which raises a fair question: if the entire front is mirror, why choose a carcase colour? Because it shows at every edge – the sides of the unit, the door frames, the base, and the whole interior – and the handles are matched to it. Alpine White keeps everything light and disappears fastest in a pale room. Silk Grey is the softest and most tonal, warm rather than cold. Champagne adds a faint golden note that suits brass fittings and natural materials. Graphite frames the mirror in near-black for a sharp, contemporary result. The mirror is identical on all four; the edges set the character.
Behind the front, the layout is where this model differs meaningfully from the smaller versions. It divides into three compartments – 50cm, 100cm and 100cm – and each is fitted for a different job rather than repeating the same arrangement across the width.
The 50cm section sits behind a single full-height door and is the long-hanging compartment. Two shelves and a hanging rail run the full height of the unit with no drawers beneath, so coats, dresses, suit carriers and anything else that needs uninterrupted vertical space has a dedicated home. On most wardrobes this is the thing that gets squeezed out; here it has its own column.
The two 100cm sections either side of it are the working storage. Each has three drawers in the lower half and a two-door section above with a shelf and hanging rail. Six drawers in total, arranged as two separate banks – which is more useful than one long run, because two people sharing can take a bank each without negotiating over space. For most households this removes the need for a chest of drawers entirely, which on a 251cm footprint is a real saving of floor area.
Everything closes quietly. All five doors are fitted with soft-close hinges as standard, and the drawers run on underfloor metal runners with self-closing and damping. On a wardrobe with eleven moving fronts that matters more than it would on a smaller unit – it is the difference between a piece of furniture you use quietly and one that announces every trip to it.
The fittings are specified rather than assumed. Shelves are 2.2cm thick with a 20kg load capacity each, thick enough not to bow under stacked knitwear or storage boxes, which is where cheaper wardrobes fail first. The rails are metal rather than plastic, rated to 40kg. Usable interior depth is 56.6cm, so garments hang square rather than pressing against the doors. The body is wood-based panel with an MDF back and metal fittings throughout.
Miramar Crystal belongs to Rauch's Orange Plus premium range and is 100% Made in Germany, carrying both the Blue Angel and the Golden M seals. Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification – meaningful for a piece of furniture this large in a room you sleep in – and the Golden M is Germany's recognised furniture quality mark. It carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.
A Passepartout frame is available as an optional extra. This is a surround fitted across the top and both sides of the wardrobe, closing the gap to the ceiling and walls to give a built-in, fitted appearance rather than a freestanding one. On a full mirror front the effect is particularly strong, since the frame reads as the border of a mirrored panel rather than the edge of a piece of furniture. Interior drawers, additional hanging rails, lighting kits and shelf dividers can also be added.
The Miramar Crystal is produced in 2, 3 and 4 door versions alongside this one, and in colour glass fronts matching the carcase colours instead of mirror. There is also a combination front, pairing glass on the full-height doors with mirror on the doors above the drawers. Matching bedside tables, chests of drawers and dressing units are available in coordinating finishes.

FAQs
Is the whole front mirrored, including the drawers?
Yes. All five doors and all six drawer fronts are mirrored, giving a continuous reflective surface across the full 251cm width. Mirrored drawer fronts are unusual – most wardrobes stop at the doors – and it is what makes the front read as a single mirrored panel rather than furniture with mirrors attached.
If the front is all mirror, does the carcase colour matter?
Yes, at every edge. The carcase is what you see at the sides of the unit, around the door frames, at the base and throughout the interior, and the handles are colour-matched to it. Alpine White is the lightest, Silk Grey the softest and most tonal, Champagne adds a warm golden note, and Graphite frames the mirror in near-black for a sharper look.
What is the internal layout?
Three compartments: 50cm, 100cm and 100cm. The 50cm section has a single full-height door with 2 shelves and a hanging rail, and no drawers – it is the long-hanging compartment. Each 100cm section has three drawers below and a two-door section above with 1 shelf and 1 hanging rail.
Are the doors and drawers soft close?
Yes, both, and included as standard. All five doors have soft-close hinges, and the drawers run on underfloor metal runners with self-closing and damping. Nothing on the wardrobe slams.
How are the six drawers arranged?
As two separate banks of three, one in each 100cm compartment, rather than a single run. That makes the wardrobe easy to divide between two people, with each taking a bank.
Do I still need a chest of drawers?
For most households, no. Six drawers across two banks covers the folded storage a separate chest would normally hold, which on a 251cm wardrobe is a useful saving of floor space.
How much space do I need to install it?
Approximately 5cm of clearance at each side of the wardrobe. On a unit of this width it is worth measuring the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.
How much weight will the shelves and rails hold?
Each shelf is rated to 20kg and each hanging rail to 40kg. The shelves are 2.2cm thick and the rails are metal rather than plastic, so neither will bow or sag under normal household use.
Is delivery and assembly included?
Free delivery is included. Professional assembly is available at additional cost and can be selected at checkout.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order in your chosen carcase colour and options, so once the order has been processed with Rauch it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.
What is a Passepartout frame?
An optional surround fitted across the top and both sides of the wardrobe. It closes the gap to the ceiling and walls, giving a built-in, fitted appearance rather than a freestanding one. It is available at additional cost.
Is it available in other sizes?
Yes. The Miramar Crystal is produced in 2, 3 and 4 door versions alongside this five-door model.
Is it available without the mirror?
Yes. The range is also produced with colour glass fronts matching the carcase colours, and in a combination front pairing glass on the full-height doors with mirror on the doors above the drawers.
What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms. Miramar Crystal sits in the Orange Plus premium range.
Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Coordinating bedside tables, chests of drawers and dressing units are available in matching finishes.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
