Two Equal Compartments
At 200cm the Cairns divides into two compartments of 100cm, each behind a pair of doors and each fitted with two adjustable wooden shelves and a metal hanging rail. Two equal halves is a more useful arrangement than it sounds — for two people sharing, it is a clean split with no negotiation over who gets the bigger side, and neither compartment is a compromise.
Two shelves per compartment is more than most wardrobes of this width offer. Because they adjust, the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set: raise both shelves for full-length coats and dresses on one side, drop them on the other for stacked knitwear and folded clothing.
Further interior options are available if you want to build it out: extra shelves, drawers, pull-out rails and LED lighting.
Five Colours, Including Sage Green
Cairns comes in five finishes, and one of them is unusual enough to be the reason people choose this range.
Sage Green is a soft, muted green with grey in it — closer to a heritage paint colour than anything you would normally find on a German wardrobe, where the palette is almost always white, grey or oak. At 200cm it makes a genuine statement without shouting: a two-metre wardrobe in a colour that is still fundamentally a soft neutral, so the room keeps its calm.
White is the brightest and most adaptable. Pebble Grey is a warm mid grey — softer than a cool grey and easier to live with over time. Champagne is a pale, faintly golden neutral, warmer than grey and softer than white. Graphite is a deep near-black, the boldest of the five, and at this width it needs a room with light to spare.
The carcase matches the doors on all five, so the wardrobe reads as one finish rather than coloured fronts on a white box.
Cornice or Passepartout – What's the Difference?
Cairns comes with a cornice as standard, and you can swap it for a Passepartout frame instead. They do different jobs, and the choice changes both the look and the measurements.
A cornice is a decorative moulded top section fitted above the wardrobe. It finishes the unit off, adds 4cm to the height and gives a more traditional, furnished appearance — the same idea as the cornice on a fitted kitchen. The wardrobe still stands freestanding with a gap above and down each side; the cornice simply gives the top a proper edge.
A Passepartout frame surrounds the wardrobe across the top and down both sides, closing the gap between the furniture and the room. The result is a built-in appearance: no daylight above, no shadow line at the edges, and no dust shelf forming on top. On a two-metre wardrobe that difference is considerable — it is what separates a large freestanding unit from something that looks fitted.
The practical difference is the width. With the cornice the wardrobe is 200cm wide and 220cm high. With the Passepartout frame it is 206cm wide and 220cm high — the frame adds 3cm to each side. If you are fitting into an alcove or a measured space, that 6cm matters and needs checking before you choose.
The Mirror Option
Mirror panels are available on the doors, positioned deliberately: sections at the top and bottom of the door rather than one continuous panel. The lower mirror sits at the right height for shoes and hems, the upper for checking an outfit from the waist up, and the band of colour between them breaks up what would otherwise be a large reflective expanse facing the bed.
On the darker finishes — Graphite in particular — that split works especially well, since the mirror panels catch light against a near-black door and give the front real definition.
Doors and Handles
All four doors have soft-close cushioned hinges and open to 95°, which is wider than the usual 90° — enough that the door clears the opening completely and you can pull a drawer or a basket straight out without the door edge in the way.
Handles are horizontal metal bars in a choice of Silver or Slate. Silver is the quieter option on the paler finishes; Slate is a darker, more contemporary accent that works particularly well on Sage Green and Graphite. Across four doors those horizontal lines give a two-metre front a regular rhythm rather than leaving it flat.

Cairns is produced in five widths, and in most of them you can choose a version with drawers built in beneath the centre doors — useful if you would rather not have a separate chest of drawers in the room.
