How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.

Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

Check all packs before beginning assembly.
Confirm that all required components are present.
Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.

Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.

During National Holidays — particularly Christmas — German factories close, so please allow additional time for dispatch.
