Half Wood, Half White
One sliding door is faced in Artisan Oak, the other in white, on a white carcase. It is an even split down the middle of the front, and the simplest possible way to bring timber into a bedroom without the wardrobe becoming a wooden object.
That balance is the reason to choose it. An all-oak wardrobe is warm but can weigh on a smaller room; an all-white one is bright but flat. Half of each gives you grain and texture on one side and clean reflected light on the other, so the room keeps its brightness while the wardrobe gains something to look at.
Artisan Oak is a mid-toned wood effect with pronounced grain and genuine knot detail, and against white that detail reads clearly — white is the plainest possible backdrop, so every bit of figuring in the timber shows. On a design this understated, with no mirror, no glass and no applied handles, the grain is the only decoration the wardrobe has.
Each door divides into three horizontal panels by fine recessed lines, with slim aluminium profiles running down the door edges. There are no handles: the aluminium edge is what you grip to slide the door, so nothing projects from the front and nothing interrupts either material.
Because the doors slide, the balance of wood to white shifts as you use the wardrobe — the oak moves across the front rather than staying fixed to one side.
Three Widths
All three sizes have two sliding doors; what changes is the width and how the interior is divided behind them.
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the right proportion for a standard double bedroom, and the most compact of the three.
218cm opens the two compartments out to 109cm each. That is unusually generous: wide enough for a full season's coats or a long run of dresses in one section, without the rail being divided.
261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm behind the two doors. For two people sharing this is the one to have — a compartment each with a third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing.
Every compartment, at every width, has a height-adjustable shelf and a hanging rail, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's.
At 210cm high and 59cm deep, Aurelia fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the depth means garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the sliding doors.
Sliding doors are the practical half of the design. Nothing swings into the room, so the wardrobe can sit opposite a bed, beside a doorway or in a narrow room without losing usable floor.
German Build at a Sensible Price
Aurelia sits in the Rauch Blue range – Rauch's value line, where the brief is reliable quality and good value rather than premium specification. What it is not is a budget wardrobe dressed up: it is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M.
Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in. The Golden M is Germany's independent furniture quality mark. Both are external certifications rather than the manufacturer's own claims, and most wardrobes at this price carry neither.
Other Options
Aurelia is also produced in all Artisan Oak if you want timber across the whole front, or with one metallic grey door and one Artisan Oak door for a darker, higher-contrast pairing.
It is also made in plain colours — White, Champagne and Metallic Grey — and in mirrored versions across the range.
Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.

FAQs
How is the front arranged?
One sliding door in Artisan Oak and one in white, on a white carcase – an even split down the middle of the front.
Which side is the oak door?
Because the doors slide, the balance of wood to white shifts as you use the wardrobe rather than staying fixed to one side.
Why choose this over the all-oak version?
An all-oak wardrobe is warmer but carries more visual weight. Half white keeps the room brighter while still bringing timber into it – the better choice for a smaller or north-facing bedroom.
Is Artisan Oak solid wood?
Artisan Oak is a wood-effect finish with pronounced grain and knot detail. It is dimensionally stable in a centrally heated bedroom, needs no treatment, and will not develop the shrinkage gaps solid timber can.
Are there handles?
No applied handles. Slim aluminium profiles run the full height of each door edge and act as the grip when sliding the doors, so nothing projects from the front.
How many doors does it have?
Two sliding doors at every width. The wider sizes give more internal compartments behind those two doors rather than additional doors.
Which width should I choose?
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the most compact option. 218cm widens them to 109cm each, which suits long uninterrupted hanging. 261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm, which is the better arrangement for two people sharing.
What is inside the wardrobe?
Every compartment has one height-adjustable shelf and one hanging rail. Because the shelf adjusts, you can raise it for full-length coats and dresses or lower it to add folded storage.
What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line – functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with good value. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M certifications as the rest of the brand.
How deep is it?
59cm, which allows garments to hang square on the rail without pressing against the sliding doors.
What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is included. Our professional assembly service is available at additional cost, where our fitters build the wardrobe in your chosen room and remove the packaging.
How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks — quicker than most German wardrobes. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date, as the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements carefully before ordering.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
