High Gloss White
The doors on this version are finished in high gloss white — a reflective lacquered surface rather than the matt décor used across the rest of the range. The carcase stays white, so the wardrobe reads as one colour throughout, with the sheen confined to the fronts where it has the most effect.
Gloss does something no matt finish can. A high gloss front reflects the room back softly — not with the clarity of a mirror, but enough to pick up window light, lamplight and the colours around it. In practice that makes a bedroom feel noticeably brighter and deeper than the same wardrobe in matt white, and it is the closest you can get to the light-reflecting benefit of a mirrored wardrobe without putting a mirror in the room.
It also changes how the door design reads. Each door divides into three horizontal panels by fine recessed lines, and on a matt white front those lines are barely visible. On gloss they catch the light and show clearly — the reflection breaks at each join, which gives the front a definition the matt version does not have.
There are no applied handles. Slim aluminium profiles run the full height of each door edge and act as the grip, so nothing projects from the front and nothing interrupts the reflective surface. On a gloss finish that matters more than usual: a handle would be the one thing casting a shadow across an otherwise unbroken plane.
One honest note: gloss shows fingerprints more readily than matt, particularly around the opening edge. A dry cloth is all it needs, and white is considerably more forgiving than a dark gloss would be — but it will want attention more often than the matt white version.
Sliding doors are the practical half of the design. Nothing swings into the room, so the wardrobe can sit opposite a bed, beside a doorway or in a narrow room without losing usable floor — and at the wider sizes, where a hinged wardrobe would need the better part of a metre of clear space in front of it, that becomes the deciding factor.
Three Widths
All three sizes have two sliding doors; what changes is the width and how the interior is divided behind them.
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the right proportion for a standard double bedroom, and the most compact of the three. In a smaller room the gloss earns its place, since the reflection does some of the work a mirror would.
218cm opens the two compartments out to 109cm each. That is unusually generous: wide enough for a full season's coats or a long run of dresses in one section, without the rail being divided.
261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm behind the two doors. For two people sharing this is the one to have — a compartment each with a third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing. At this width the gloss front is at its most effective, reflecting most of the room back across two and a half metres.
Every compartment, at every width, has a height-adjustable shelf and a hanging rail, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's.
At 210cm high and 59cm deep, Aurelia fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the depth means garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the sliding doors.
German Build at a Sensible Price
Aurelia sits in the Rauch Blue range – Rauch's value line, where the brief is reliable quality and good value rather than premium specification. What it is not is a budget wardrobe dressed up: it is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M.
Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in. The Golden M is Germany's independent furniture quality mark. Both are external certifications rather than the manufacturer's own claims, and most wardrobes at this price carry neither.
Other Options
If you would prefer a non-reflective finish, Aurelia is produced in matt white, which is the more forgiving of the two day to day.
The range is also made in Champagne, a soft faintly golden neutral, Metallic Grey, a deep graphite considerably closer to black than the name suggests, and Artisan Oak, a mid-toned wood effect with pronounced grain. Mirrored versions are available across the range.
Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
Delivery and Assembly
Free delivery is included, and our professional assembly service is available at additional cost — our fitters deliver to your room of choice, build the wardrobe, remove the packaging and show you how everything works before they leave.
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks, which is quicker than most German wardrobes we sell. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.

FAQs
What is high gloss?
A reflective lacquered surface rather than the matt décor used across the rest of the range. It reflects the room back softly – not with the clarity of a mirror, but enough to pick up window light and lamplight, which makes a bedroom feel brighter and deeper.
How does it compare with the matt white version?
Gloss is noticeably brighter and gives the front more definition, since the panel lines catch the light. Matt white is quieter and more forgiving of fingerprints. Both are the same wardrobe otherwise.
Does the gloss show fingerprints?
More readily than matt, particularly around the opening edge – though white is considerably more forgiving than a dark gloss would be. A dry cloth is all it needs.
Is the carcase gloss too?
No. The doors are high gloss white and the carcase is white, so the wardrobe reads as one colour with the sheen confined to the fronts.
Will it brighten a small room?
Yes. A gloss front reflects light back into the room, which is the closest you can get to the benefit of a mirrored wardrobe without putting a mirror in the bedroom.
Are there handles?
No applied handles. Slim aluminium profiles run the full height of each door edge and act as the grip, so nothing projects from the front to break the reflective surface.
How many doors does it have?
Two sliding doors at every width. The wider sizes give more internal compartments behind those two doors rather than additional doors.
Which width should I choose?
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the most compact option. 218cm widens them to 109cm each, which suits long uninterrupted hanging. 261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm, which is the better arrangement for two people sharing and where the gloss front is at its most effective.
What is inside the wardrobe?
Every compartment has one height-adjustable shelf and one hanging rail. Because the shelf adjusts, you can raise it for full-length coats and dresses or lower it to add folded storage.
What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line – functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with good value. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M certifications as the rest of the brand.
How deep is it?
59cm, which allows garments to hang square on the rail without pressing against the sliding doors.
Is it available in other finishes?
Yes. Aurelia is also made in matt white, Champagne, Metallic Grey and Artisan Oak.
What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is included. Our professional assembly service is available at additional cost, where our fitters build the wardrobe in your chosen room and remove the packaging.
How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks — quicker than most German wardrobes. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date, as the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected width carefully before ordering.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
