Oak and Mirror
This is the version of Aura with something to look at. One sliding door is faced in Artisan Oak — a mid-toned wood effect with pronounced grain and genuine knot detail — and the other is a full-height mirror running floor to ceiling on the door.
The pairing works because the two materials do opposite jobs. Wood gives warmth and texture; mirror gives light and depth. A plain oak wardrobe can feel heavy across a wide front, and a plain mirrored one can feel cold — half of each avoids both. Because the doors slide, the composition shifts as you use the wardrobe: the oak moves across the front, the reflection reconfigures.
The mirror is a genuine full-height dressing mirror, not an inset panel, so it removes the need for anything standing separately in the room — and it visually doubles the depth of the space, which on a wardrobe occupying a long wall matters more than it sounds.
Three Carcase Options
The oak door and the mirrored door are the same on all three. What changes is the carcase and the visible edges around them.
All Artisan Oak is the warmest and most cohesive. Oak carcase, oak door, with the mirror set into it — the wardrobe reads as a single timber piece rather than two materials meeting. It is the option for a room built around natural materials, wooden flooring or linen.
White with Artisan Oak is the brightest. A white carcase framing an oak door and a mirror gives the lightest result of the three, and in a smaller or north-facing bedroom it does most for the space. The oak becomes an accent against white rather than the dominant material.
Metallic Grey with Artisan Oak is the boldest. Metallic Grey is a deep graphite, considerably closer to black than the name suggests, and against warm oak that darkness throws the grain forward. It is the most contemporary and the most striking of the three, though it needs a room with reasonable light.
Three Widths
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm — the right proportion for a standard double bedroom, and the most compact of the three.
218cm opens the two compartments out to 109cm each. That is unusually generous: wide enough for a full season's coats or a long run of dresses in one section, without the rail being divided.
261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm behind the two sliding doors. For two people sharing this is the one to have — a compartment each with a third for bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing.
Every compartment, at every width, has a height-adjustable shelf and a hanging rail, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's.
At 210cm high and 59cm deep, Aura fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the depth means garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the sliding doors.
Sliding doors are the practical half of the design. Nothing swings into the room, so the wardrobe can sit opposite a bed, beside a doorway or in a narrow room without losing usable floor — and on a mirrored front that matters twice over, since a hinged mirrored door swinging into a bedroom is both an obstruction and a hazard.
German Build at a Sensible Price
Aura sits in the Rauch Blue range – Rauch's value line, where the brief is reliable quality and good value rather than premium specification. What it is not is a budget wardrobe dressed up: it is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M.
Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in. The Golden M is Germany's independent furniture quality mark. Both are external certifications rather than the manufacturer's own claims, and most wardrobes at this price carry neither.
Other Finishes
If you would prefer a plain front with no mirror, Aura is also produced in White, Champagne and Metallic Grey.
Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
Delivery and Assembly
Free delivery is included, and our professional assembly service is available at additional cost — our fitters deliver to your room of choice, build the wardrobe, remove the packaging and show you how everything works before they leave. On a wardrobe with a full-height mirrored door it is worth considering.
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks, which is quicker than most German wardrobes we sell. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.

FAQs
How is the front arranged?
Two sliding doors: one faced in Artisan Oak, the other a full-height mirror. Because the doors slide, the arrangement shifts as you use the wardrobe.
What are the three colour options?
All Artisan Oak, White with Artisan Oak, or Metallic Grey with Artisan Oak. The oak door and the mirrored door are identical on all three – only the carcase and the visible edges change.
Which should I choose?
All oak is the warmest and most cohesive, reading as a single timber piece. White is the brightest and does most for a small or north-facing room. Metallic Grey is a deep near-black that throws the oak grain forward – the boldest of the three.
Is the mirror full height?
Yes. The mirrored door is a full-height mirror rather than an inset panel, so it works as a dressing mirror and removes the need for one standing separately in the room.
Which width should I choose?
175cm gives two compartments of 87.5cm. 218cm widens them to 109cm each, which suits long uninterrupted hanging. 261cm divides into three compartments of 87.5cm, which is the better arrangement for two people sharing. All three widths have two sliding doors.
What is inside the wardrobe?
Every compartment has one height-adjustable shelf and one hanging rail. Because the shelf adjusts, you can raise it for full-length coats and dresses or lower it to add folded storage.
Is Artisan Oak solid wood?
Artisan Oak is a wood-effect finish with pronounced grain and knot detail. It is dimensionally stable in a centrally heated bedroom, needs no treatment, and will not develop the shrinkage gaps solid timber can.
Why choose sliding doors on a mirrored wardrobe?
Nothing swings out into the room, so no floor space is lost – and a hinged mirrored door swinging into a bedroom is both an obstruction and a hazard. Sliding doors avoid both.
What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line – functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with good value. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M certifications as the rest of the brand.
Is it available without a mirror?
Yes. Aura is also made with plain fronts in White, Champagne and Metallic Grey.
What delivery options are available?
Free delivery is included. Our professional assembly service is available at additional cost – worth considering on a wardrobe with a full-height mirrored door.
How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 4 to 6 weeks — quicker than most German wardrobes. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date, as the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.
