About the White Finish

White and dark oak is one of the few colour pairings in furniture that genuinely improves both halves. On its own, a plain white wardrobe can feel like a blank box; a full dark oak unit can feel heavy. Together the contrast is sharp and deliberate – and across 226cm the asymmetric layout uses it particularly well. A single block of Atlantic Dark Oak at one end anchors the wardrobe and leaves the rest of the front clean, with the matte black linear handles tying the two tones together.

White is also the easiest of the three Kodi finishes to place, and at this width that matters more than on a smaller unit. It sits with any flooring, any bedding, any wall colour, and it keeps the room light in a way the darker finishes cannot. A 226cm wardrobe occupies a substantial run of wall; a white carcase stops it weighing on the room while the oak drawers give the piece definition.

This configuration gives you the most hanging space of any Kodi at this width. Three of the five doors run full height, with only one section given over to drawers – so the wardrobe leans towards garments on rails rather than folded storage. If your clothes are mostly hanging, or you already have a chest of drawers you intend to keep, this is the layout that makes the best use of 226cm.

The drawer unit can be specified on either the left or the right, and that flexibility is worth thinking about carefully before you order. It lets the wardrobe adapt to the room rather than the other way round – useful where it sits beside a doorway, a window or a chimney breast, or where the bed is positioned so that one end is harder to reach. As a made-to-order item the side cannot be changed once the order goes through, so it is a decision to make with the room in mind.

Internally the wardrobe divides into three compartments – 90cm, 45cm and 90cm. Two of these sit behind full-height doors with hanging space running the entire drop, which is where coats, dresses and suit carriers go. The third pairs the drawer unit with two shorter doors above, giving it its own shelf and hanging rail for shirts, jackets and everyday clothes.

The three drawers are arranged in graduated depths, and each depth is there for a reason. The top drawer is 6cm deep and fitted with interior dividers – a jewellery, watch, cufflink, belt and sock drawer, for the things that get lost at the bottom of a deep drawer or end up in a dish on the chest. Below it sits an 8cm drawer for underwear, socks and folded lightweight items. At the bottom, a 20cm drawer takes jumpers, jeans and anything bulky. Each is 85cm wide and 39cm deep internally, a proper size rather than a token one, running on metal runners for smooth, reliable use.

Behind the doors, each compartment has a height-adjustable shelf and a metal hanging rail rated to 40kg. The shelf positions to suit what you actually own rather than sitting where the factory decided, so one section can be set for full-length garments while another carries more folded storage.

Usable interior depth is 50cm, so garments hang square rather than pressing against the doors. The shelves are 1.6cm thick and the rails are metal rather than plastic. If you want more from the interior, additional shelves, interior drawers, lighting, pull-out rails and dividers can all be added as optional extras before you order.

At 226cm wide and 210cm high, this sits comfortably in a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the 54cm depth keeps the footprint modest. If you need more folded storage than three drawers, the same wardrobe is produced in a six-drawer configuration with a bank at each end – though that version trades away two of the full-height sections to accommodate them.

In this three-drawer configuration, Kodi is also produced as a 4 door wardrobe at 181cm and a large 6 door wardrobe at 271cm. This 226cm model is also available in Metallic Grey and Champagne, each with the same Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts.

Kodi belongs to the Rauch Orange range and is 100% Made in Germany, carrying both the Blue Angel and the Golden M seals. Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification, meaningful for a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in, and the Golden M is Germany's recognised furniture quality mark. It carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.

Matching furniture is available across the collection, all carrying the same Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts: a 3 drawer bedside table available in pairs, a 4 drawer narrow chest, and a 5 drawer chest with two small top drawers above three larger ones. Wardrobe, bedside tables and drawer chest can be bought together as a three or four piece set, or individually.

Internal Storage Layout

  • Three compartments: Arranged at 90cm, 45cm and 90cm across the 226cm width
  • Full-height 90cm compartment: Behind two full-height doors, with 1 height-adjustable shelf and 1 metal hanging rail. No drawers beneath, so the full height is available for coats, dresses and long garments
  • Centre 45cm compartment: Behind a single full-height door, with 1 height-adjustable shelf and 1 metal hanging rail, also running the full drop
  • Drawer-side 90cm compartment: Behind two shorter doors, with 1 height-adjustable shelf and 1 metal hanging rail above the drawer unit
  • Drawer position: Specified as left or right when you order, so the layout can be matched to your room
  • Top drawer (6cm): Fitted with interior dividers for jewellery, watches, belts, socks and small accessories
  • Middle drawer (8cm): Suited to underwear, socks and folded lightweight items
  • Bottom drawer (20cm): Deep enough for jumpers, jeans and bulkier folded clothing
  • Drawer dimensions: 85cm wide x 39cm deep internally, running on metal runners
  • Shelves: 1.6cm thick and height-adjustable, so hanging space can be increased for longer garments or shelf space added for folded items
  • Hanging rails: Metal, with a 40kg load capacity each
  • Usable depth: 50cm throughout, allowing garments to hang square without contact with the doors
  • Additional fittings: Extra shelves, interior drawers, lighting, pull-out rails and dividers can be added as optional extras

Made To Order

This item is categorised as 'Made To Order.' Kindly be aware that this item is crafted according to your specifications by Rauch, including your selected options. Once the order is processed, cancellations or modifications cannot be accommodated. We cannot accept responsibility for additional costs resulting from incorrect information supplied when the order was placed.

FAQs

Can I choose which side the drawers are on?
Yes. The drawer unit can be specified on either the left or the right when you place your order, so the wardrobe can be matched to your room – useful where it sits beside a doorway, a window or a chimney breast. As this is a made-to-order item, the choice cannot be changed once the order has been processed.

How is the wardrobe divided?
Into three compartments of 90cm, 45cm and 90cm. Two sit behind full-height doors with hanging space running the entire drop. The third has two shorter doors above the three drawers, with its own shelf and hanging rail.

Should I choose three drawers or six?
Three drawers leaves two full-height compartments plus the centre section for long garments, so it suits anyone whose clothes are mostly hanging or who already owns a chest of drawers. The six-drawer version adds a second drawer bank at the opposite end, which gives more folded storage but reduces the full-height hanging space.

Why are the drawers different depths?
Each depth is intended for different contents. The 6cm top drawer has interior dividers for jewellery, watches, belts and small accessories. The 8cm middle drawer suits underwear, socks and folded lightweights. The 20cm bottom drawer takes jumpers, jeans and bulkier items.

What is inside each wardrobe compartment?
Each of the three compartments has one height-adjustable shelf and one metal hanging rail rated to 40kg.

Do the drawers have soft close?
The drawers run on metal runners for smooth, reliable use. Soft close is not fitted to this model.

Is it available in other sizes?
Yes. In this three-drawer configuration, Kodi is produced as a 4 door wardrobe at 181cm and a large 6 door wardrobe at 271cm.

What are the two colours?
The carcase and doors are White, with contrasting Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts. The handles are matte black linear metal on both the doors and the drawers. The same wardrobe is also available in Metallic Grey and Champagne.

How much space do I need to install it?
Allow 25cm of clearance for installation. On a wardrobe of this width it is worth measuring the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards, radiators and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.

Is delivery and assembly included?
Free white glove delivery is included. Assembly is available at additional cost and can be selected at checkout.

Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, including the side you have chosen for the drawer unit, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.

Can I add more shelves or rails inside?
Yes. Additional shelves, interior drawers, lighting, pull-out rails and dividers can all be selected as optional extras when you place your order.

What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms.

Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. A 3 drawer bedside table available in pairs, a 4 drawer narrow chest, and a 5 drawer chest with two small top drawers above three larger ones. All carry the same Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts, and can be bought with the wardrobe as a three or four piece set or individually.

How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
  • Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
  • Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
  • Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
  • Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
  • Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.
Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

  • Check all packs before beginning assembly.
  • Confirm that all required components are present.
  • Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
  • Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
  • Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
  • Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.
Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.
