About the Kodi Design

This is the asymmetric Kodi, and for a lot of bedrooms it is the more sensible of the two configurations. One side gives you two full-height doors with hanging space running the whole drop – the section for coats, dresses and anything long. The other pairs three drawers with two shorter doors above. You get proper full-length hanging and proper drawer storage in a single 181cm unit, rather than trading one against the other.

The detail that makes it genuinely useful is that the drawer unit can go on either side. You specify left or right when you order, which means the wardrobe adapts to the room rather than the other way round. If the wardrobe sits beside a doorway, a window or a chimney breast, or if two units are going in side by side and you want them to mirror each other, that choice matters. Very few wardrobes at this price offer it, and it is worth thinking about before you order rather than after – on a made-to-order item it cannot be changed later.

The three drawers are arranged in graduated depths, and each depth is there for a reason. The top drawer is 6cm deep and fitted with interior dividers – a jewellery, watch, cufflink, belt and sock drawer, for the things that get lost at the bottom of a deep drawer or end up in a dish on the chest. Below it sits an 8cm drawer for underwear, socks and folded lightweight items. At the bottom, a 20cm drawer takes jumpers, jeans and anything bulky. Each is 85cm wide and 39cm deep internally, a proper size rather than a token one, running on metal runners for smooth, reliable use.

Visually, the three Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts do more work here than they would in a symmetrical layout. Set against the Metallic Grey carcase and doors, the block of warm wood grain on one side gives the wardrobe a deliberate off-centre balance – a designed asymmetry rather than a plain rectangle. The matte black linear handles sharpen it further: dark, minimal, and consistent across both the doors and the drawers.

Behind the doors, both compartments are 90.5cm wide, each with a height-adjustable shelf and a metal hanging rail rated to 40kg. The shelf positions to suit what you actually own rather than sitting where the factory decided, so the full-height side can be set for long garments while the side above the drawers carries shirts, jackets and folded storage.

Usable interior depth is 50cm, so garments hang square rather than pressing against the doors. The shelves are 1.6cm thick and the rails are metal rather than plastic. If you want more from the interior, additional shelves, interior drawers, lighting, pull-out rails and dividers can all be added as optional extras before you order.

At 181cm wide and 210cm high, Kodi fits a standard modern bedroom without demanding a specialist ceiling height, and the 54cm depth keeps the footprint modest. If you need more drawer storage than three, the same wardrobe is produced in a six-drawer version with a bank on each side.

In this three-drawer configuration, Kodi is also produced as a 5 door wardrobe at 226cm and a large 6 door wardrobe at 271cm. This 181cm model is also available in Graphite, Champagne and White, each with the same Atlantic Dark Oak drawer fronts.

Kodi belongs to the Rauch Orange range and is 100% Made in Germany, carrying both the Blue Angel and the Golden M seals. Can I choose which side the drawers are on?
Yes. The drawer unit can be specified on either the left or the right when you place your order, so the wardrobe can be matched to your room – useful where it sits beside a doorway, a window or a chimney breast, or where two units are going in side by side. As this is a made-to-order item, the choice cannot be changed once the order has been processed.

How is the wardrobe divided?

Why are the drawers different depths?

How much space do I need to install it?

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

• Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
• Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
• Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
• Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
• Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
• Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
• Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.

Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.
