About the Fango Finish
Four metres of colour is a considerable commitment, and fango is the tone that carries it most gracefully. A warm beige-taupe with genuine depth, it gives a wardrobe of this scale the presence of a fitted wall while keeping the room soft. Black at this width demands a scheme built around it and white can read as a blank plane; fango does neither. It fills the wall with warmth rather than weight.
The colour sits towards the brown end of the neutral spectrum – earthy, grounded, closer to clay and stone than to grey. Across four metres that warmth genuinely changes how a bedroom feels: cool colours at this scale can make a room feel harder and more austere, whereas fango does the opposite. It belongs with natural materials – linen, wool, rattan, unpainted wood – and with warm off-white or clay wall colours.
The two mirrored centre doors are what make the width work. Side by side they create a large uninterrupted reflective expanse – close to a mirrored wall without commissioning one – which pushes the opposite side of the room back and adds depth the colour alone could not provide. Against fango the contrast is soft rather than sharp, so the effect is calm rather than dramatic. Four metres of unbroken colour would read as a wall; framed either side of the mirrors, it reads as designed.
Those two centre doors open together. Draw either one and the other follows automatically, opening the whole mirrored section in a single movement rather than door by door. It is a small piece of engineering you notice every day, and characteristic of where Rauch spend their money in the BLACK collection. The mechanism sits at the top of the wardrobe, which is why this model needs a little more ceiling clearance than the two and three-door versions.
The outer doors are yours to specify. Matt Décor is a soft, non-reflective panel front – on an earthy tone the most natural-looking of the three, and closest to a painted or fitted wardrobe. Matt Colour Glass is genuine glass with a low-sheen surface, giving fango a smooth, even depth across a wide front without reflections. Glossy Colour Glass is real glass with a high-sheen finish; alongside the mirrored centre it adds light and a lacquered richness, taking the colour in a more contemporary direction. The carcase is always Matt Décor.
On maintenance, mid-tone warm neutrals are the most forgiving in the range. Dust shows far less than on a dark colour and everyday marks less than on a pale one, which is worth having across four metres of surface.
The name Duo comes from the doors themselves: each is built from two panels rather than one full-height sheet. Visually that produces the split-door front and the three slim decorative strips running across it. Practically it solves a problem that catches a lot of people out with wardrobes this size – a 236cm door in a single piece is extremely difficult to carry up a staircase, round a landing or through a standard doorway. Two panels are manageable. If the bedroom is upstairs, or the access involves a turn, that is the difference between a straightforward installation and an impossible one.
Sliding doors are close to essential at this width. A four-door hinged wardrobe would need the better part of a metre of clear floor before a single door could open; this needs none. That is what makes a 400cm wardrobe possible in a room where the bed sits opposite, and the metal rail system is built to hold four heavy doors true and running smoothly over years rather than months.
Internally the wardrobe divides into four equal compartments – 80cm, 90cm or 100cm each depending on width – with two height-adjustable shelves and a full-width hanging rail in every one. Four separate hanging sections is far more usable than one long run: two people sharing can take two compartments each, or whole sections can be given over to bedding, luggage and out-of-season clothing without disturbing everyday storage.
Construction is what the rauch BLACK line is built on: high-quality wood-based panels, metal fittings and rails, and an MDF back wall for rigidity across the full four-metre span. With 68cm external depth and 58cm usable inside, garments hang square rather than pressing against the doors. As a 100% Made in Germany product carrying both the Blue Angel and Golden M seals, it meets independently verified standards for low emissions and furniture quality.
Two heights are offered. The 236cm model adds a substantial band of storage above the hanging space where ceiling height allows; 223cm suits standard modern ceilings. If four doors is more than the wall will take, the Supreme Duo is also produced as a 2-door wardrobe from 160cm to 200cm and a 3-door wardrobe from 240cm to 300cm. Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
Internal Storage Layout
-
Four equal compartments: Each measuring 80cm (320cm model), 90cm (360cm model) or 100cm (400cm model) in width
-
First compartment: 2 height-adjustable storage shelves in the upper section, with 1 full-width hanging rail beneath
-
Second compartment: Identical arrangement – 2 height-adjustable shelves above and 1 full-width hanging rail below, positioned behind the left mirrored door
-
Third compartment: Identical arrangement, positioned behind the right mirrored door
-
Fourth compartment: Identical arrangement – 2 height-adjustable shelves above and 1 full-width hanging rail below
-
Total hanging space: Four separate rails rather than one continuous run, allowing the wardrobe to be divided between users or dedicated to different garment types and seasons
-
Centre access: The synchronised centre doors open together, exposing the two middle compartments in a single movement
-
Shelf adjustment: Shelves reposition independently in each compartment, so one section can be set for full-length garments while another is given over to folded storage
-
Usable depth: 58cm throughout, allowing garments to hang square without contact with the sliding doors
-
Height options: The 236cm model provides additional storage volume above the hanging section in all four compartments compared with the 223cm model
-
Additional fittings: Extra shelves, rails and interior accessories can be selected under Extras when ordering

FAQs
Is delivery and assembly included?
Yes. Delivery and full professional assembly are included at no extra cost, to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our team builds the wardrobe in your room of choice – there is nothing to add at checkout and nothing for you to assemble.
How much space do I need to install it?
Allow 15cm of clearance at each side of the wardrobe, and an additional 15–20cm above it. This model needs more ceiling clearance than the two and three-door versions because the synchronised opening mechanism is housed at the top of the unit. On a wardrobe of this width, measure the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards, radiators and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.
What is synchronised opening?
The two mirrored centre doors are linked. Draw either one and the other opens with it automatically, so the whole mirrored section opens in a single movement rather than door by door. The mechanism sits at the top of the wardrobe and is fitted by our team during assembly.
Which doors are mirrored?
Both centre doors carry full-height mirrors as standard on this model, with your chosen finish on the two outer doors. Roughly half the front of the wardrobe is therefore mirrored, which gives the colour depth and stops four metres reading as a flat plane.
What colour is Fango?
Fango is a warm beige-taupe – an earthy neutral with more depth than a plain beige and a distinctly warmer character than any grey. Across a wardrobe of this scale that warmth is what keeps the room feeling soft rather than austere.
What schemes does Fango suit?
It works best with natural materials and warm palettes: linen, wool, rattan, oak and walnut flooring, and warm off-white or clay wall colours. It is less successful alongside cool blue-greys or bright white gloss furniture.
Will it fit up my stairs and into the room?
This is where the Duo design helps. Each door is built from two panels rather than a single full-height sheet, so the components are considerably easier to carry through doorways, up staircases and around landings than a wardrobe of this size would normally be. It is still worth checking that your access allows for the carcase panels, particularly on the 236cm height.
How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 8 to 10 weeks. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK. Occasionally items arrive sooner, and during German factory holiday closures it can take slightly longer.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order in your chosen finish and size, so once the order has been processed with Rauch it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.
What is the difference between the three front finishes?
Matt Décor is a panel finish with a soft, non-reflective surface – the most natural-looking option on an earthy tone. Glossy Colour Glass is genuine glass with a high-sheen, light-reflecting front. Matt Colour Glass is also genuine glass, but with a low-sheen surface that minimises reflections. All three are supplied in Fango, with the mirrored centre doors and Matt Décor carcase unchanged across the range.
How wide is each internal compartment?
The interior is divided into four equal sections. On the 320cm model each compartment is 80cm wide, on the 360cm model 90cm, and on the 400cm model 100cm. Every compartment has its own shelves and hanging rail.
What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms – a reflection of the build standard behind the rauch BLACK collection.
Can I add more shelves or rails inside?
Yes. The wardrobe comes with the standard interior of two adjustable shelves and one hanging rail per compartment. Additional interior fittings can be selected under Extras before you complete your order.
Are other sizes available?
Yes. The Supreme Duo is also produced as a 2-door wardrobe from 160cm to 200cm and a 3-door wardrobe from 240cm to 300cm.
Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Coordinating bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.
How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

Important Requirements for Successful Assembly:
- Ensure the room is fully prepared with clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.

- Our wardrobes are freestanding and require access from all sides during assembly.
- Obstructions such as radiators, light fixtures, or low ceilings may prevent successful assembly.

- Assembly requires two people for safety and ease of installation.
- Make sure the room has sufficient floor space to build the item completely before lifting it into its upright position.
- Each wardrobe must be assembled flat on the ground before being lifted into place — for example, a wardrobe measuring 250 cm wide x 215 cm high will require approx. 270–280 cm x 235–245 cm of clear space for assembly.
- Ensure ceiling height allows for at least 15–20 cm of clearance above the final product.
