About the Arched Mirror Design

The mirrors are what set Velora apart. Rather than a full mirrored door, each centre door carries a tall oval mirror with an arched top, inset into the door with the white finish framing it on all sides. It is a softer, more decorative treatment than the flat mirrored panels most wardrobes use, and it does something a full mirror cannot: the arch gives the front a shape.

On a plain white wardrobe that matters. Without the mirrors the doors would be flat and featureless; with them the front has a clear focal point and a curve, which is rare on furniture at this level and almost unheard of on a German wardrobe, where the default is uncompromisingly rectilinear. If you have been looking at wardrobes that all feel a bit severe, this is the one that isn't.

The handles carry the same idea through. They are slim black bars with rounded ends, echoing the curve of the mirror rather than sitting in contrast to it – vertical on the doors, horizontal on the drawers. Black against white is a sharp, contemporary contrast, and on a front this restrained the handles and the mirrors are the only two details, which is exactly enough.

Below the mirrored doors sit two drawers, built into the carcase rather than added as an afterthought. They are the practical half of the design: somewhere for underwear, socks and small items that would otherwise be piled on a shelf, and enough for most people to leave a chest of drawers out of the room entirely.

Sizes and Layout

Four widths are offered, and the internal arrangement changes with each.

  • 136cm – 3 doors. Two compartments of 90cm and 45cm, with the mirrored centre door and the two drawers set into the 90cm section.
  • 181cm – 4 doors. Three compartments of 45cm, 90cm and 45cm, with two mirrored centre doors and the drawers in the 90cm centre.
  • 226cm – 5 doors. Three compartments of 90cm, 45cm and 90cm, with the mirrored centre door and the drawers set into the 45cm section.
  • 271cm – 6 doors. Three compartments of 90cm, with two mirrored centre doors and the drawers in the 90cm centre.

Every compartment has a storage shelf and a hanging rail. Both can be individually positioned and adjusted in height, so the balance between hanging and folded storage is yours to set rather than the factory's – raise the shelf for full-length coats and dresses, or lower it for more folded storage. The shelves take up to 10kg each and the rails up to 40kg.

At 210cm high and 54cm deep, Velora fits a standard modern bedroom without needing a specialist ceiling height, and the 136cm model in particular is a genuinely compact option for a smaller room – a size most ranges skip entirely.

Before You Order

Velora needs approximately 25cm of clearance to the left, to the right and above the wardrobe for installation. This is more than some wardrobes require, because the Rauch Blue fittings sit externally – so the space genuinely has to be there. Measure the full run of wall and the ceiling height before ordering, including skirting boards, radiators, light fittings and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.

Velora sits in the Rauch Blue range: functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with strong value for money. It is 100% Made in Germany and carries both the Blue Angel and the Golden M ecolabels – Blue Angel being an independently verified low-emission certification, which is worth having on a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in.

The same wardrobe is also produced in Champagne, a soft warm neutral that gives the arched mirrors a gentler frame than white does.

Matching bedroom furniture is available from the collection: a 3 drawer bedside table (40 × 61 × 42cm), a 4 drawer narrow chest (40 × 81 × 42cm), a 4 drawer wide chest (80 × 81 × 42cm), and a 2 door 4 drawer chest (120 × 81 × 42cm).

Made To Order

This item is categorised as 'Made To Order.' Kindly be aware that this item is crafted according to your specifications by Rauch, including your selected options. Once the order is processed, cancellations or modifications cannot be accommodated. We cannot accept responsibility for additional costs resulting from incorrect information supplied when the order was placed.

FAQs

Are the doors fully mirrored?
No – and that is the point of the design. Each mirrored door carries a tall oval mirror with an arched top, inset into the door with the white finish framing it on all sides. It is a softer, more decorative treatment than a flat mirrored panel, and it gives the front a shape a full mirror could not.

Which doors are mirrored?
The centre door on the 136cm and 226cm models, and the two centre doors on the 181cm and 271cm models. The outer doors are plain.

Where are the drawers?
Directly beneath the mirrored doors, built into the carcase. On the 136cm, 181cm and 271cm models they sit within a 90cm compartment; on the 226cm they sit within the narrower 45cm centre section, so the drawers on that width are correspondingly narrower.

Which width should I choose?
136cm is a genuinely compact option for a smaller bedroom, with two compartments. 181cm and 226cm both give three compartments in different arrangements. 271cm gives three equal 90cm compartments, which suits two people sharing. Every width has the same mirrors, drawers and fittings.

What is inside the wardrobe?
Each compartment has one storage shelf and one hanging rail. Both can be individually positioned and adjusted in height, so the layout can be set for full-length garments or for more folded storage.

How much weight will the shelves and rails hold?
Each shelf takes up to 10kg and each clothes rail up to 40kg.

How much space do I need to install it?
Approximately 25cm of additional space to the left, to the right and above the wardrobe. This is more than some wardrobes require, because the Rauch Blue fittings sit externally – so the space genuinely has to be available. Measure the full run of wall and the ceiling height before ordering.

What colour are the handles?
Slim black bars with rounded ends, echoing the curve of the arched mirrors – vertical on the doors and horizontal on the drawers.

What is the Rauch Blue range?
Rauch's value line: functional, well-designed furniture made in Germany, combining reliable quality with strong value for money. It carries the same Blue Angel and Golden M ecolabels as the rest of the brand.

Is it available in another colour?
Yes. The same wardrobe is produced in Champagne, which gives the arched mirrors a warmer, gentler frame.

Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. The Velora collection includes a 3 drawer bedside table, a 4 drawer narrow chest, a 4 drawer wide chest, and a 2 door 4 drawer chest.

Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected width carefully before ordering.

How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
  • Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
  • Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
  • Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
  • Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
  • Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.
Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

  • Check all packs before beginning assembly.
  • Confirm that all required components are present.
  • Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
  • Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
  • Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
  • Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.
Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.

What if the room is not suitable when the assembly team arrives?

If there is insufficient space, unsuitable access or an obstruction that prevents safe assembly, the team may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot proceed because the required access or assembly space was not available.

How long does delivery with assembly take?

Professional Delivery & Assembly orders are handled by a specialist team and can take slightly longer than standard delivery. Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks.
