About the Artisan Oak and Glass Front
The front of this wardrobe is the reason to buy it. Rather than pairing a wood door with a glass one, Artemis glazes across both sliding doors and lets the Artisan Oak appear as a vertical band at each outer edge – so the glass runs almost the full width of the wardrobe, framed by wood at either end. Slide the doors and the oak moves with them, shifting the balance of the front as you use it.
On a two-door wardrobe that arrangement is particularly effective. There is nowhere for a clumsy design to hide across a shorter front, and the obvious approach – one wood door, one glass door – always looks like two halves rather than one piece. This reads as a single continuous glazed plane with a wooden border, which is a far more considered result.
Artisan Oak is a mid-toned wood effect with pronounced grain and genuine knot detail – warm, textural, and clearly a wood rather than a wood-coloured surface. Framed against smooth glass, that texture is exactly what stops the wardrobe looking cold or corporate.
The glass is yours to specify, and the three options take the piece in genuinely different directions.
Champagne Glass is the warmest and the most cohesive. A pale, faintly golden tone sits in the same family as the oak, so wood and glass relate rather than contrast – the wardrobe reads as one considered piece with a change of texture across it. For most rooms it is the best-looking of the three.
White Glass is the brightest and the crispest. Clean white against warm oak is a sharper, more contemporary pairing, and it lifts the light in the room noticeably. In a smaller or north-facing bedroom this is the option that does most for the space.
Basalt Glass is the boldest. A deep, near-black graphite against warm oak is a strong, high-contrast composition – dramatic and architectural, best in a room with light to spare and a restrained palette elsewhere.
Whichever you choose, these are genuine glass fronts rather than a printed or foiled panel. Glass has an evenness and depth that no coating reproduces, and it holds that appearance permanently – it will not scuff at the edges and will not shift in tone over years of daylight.

At 181cm the wardrobe divides into two 90cm compartments – the standard proportion across the Artemis range, and the right choice for a normal double bedroom. At 226cm the two compartments open out to 112.5cm each, which is unusually generous: wide enough that a full season's coats or a long run of dresses sits in a single section without crowding. If you have the wall for it, the wider model gives you noticeably more usable hanging space per compartment rather than simply more compartments to divide things between.
Sliding doors are the practical choice wherever floor space is limited. Nothing swings out into the room, so the wardrobe can sit opposite a bed, beside a doorway or in a narrow room without losing usable floor – and at 226cm that becomes the deciding factor for a lot of bedrooms. The Artemis runs on a smooth-glide system, and at 62cm deep – deeper than the hinged models in the range – garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the doors.
Both compartments are fitted with a storage shelf and a hanging rail. The interior is deliberately open rather than heavily fitted, so you can build it out with additional shelves, hanging rails, interior drawers and compartment dividers if you need them.

Dispatch is 8 to 10 weeks. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK. Occasionally items arrive sooner, and during German factory holiday closures it can take slightly longer.
Is a larger version available?
Yes. Artemis is also produced as a large 3 door sliding wardrobe at 271cm, with three 90cm compartments.
Is it available with a different carcase?
Yes. The range is also made with a White carcase, in the same two widths and with the same choice of champagne, basalt or white glass fronts.
Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order by Rauch to your selected specification, so once the order has been processed it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected width and glass finish carefully before ordering.
