About the Fango Finish

Across three doors, fango does something none of the other colours in this range manage. A three-metre run in white can read as a blank wall; in black it dominates; in grey it is safe but neutral. Fango gives you a large expanse of genuine colour – a warm beige-taupe with real depth to it – that still behaves like a neutral. The wardrobe becomes a feature without becoming a statement.

The tone is earthy and grounded, sitting towards the brown end of the neutral spectrum rather than the grey. At this width that warmth is the point: three metres of a cool colour can make a bedroom feel harder than intended, whereas fango softens the room as it fills it. It belongs with natural materials – linen, wool, rattan, unpainted wood – and with the warm off-whites and clay tones that have largely replaced stark white in British interiors.

It is worth being clear about where it does not work. Against a cool blue-grey scheme, or alongside bright white gloss furniture, fango will look out of place rather than complementary. This is a colour that rewards commitment to a warm palette.

The mirrored centre door is what gives the front its structure. A full-height mirror at the midpoint splits three metres of colour into three balanced sections, and against fango the effect is gentle rather than high-contrast – it lifts the light in the room without breaking the warmth of the front. It also places the mirror exactly where you would naturally stand to use it, which a two-door wardrobe cannot do.

The two outer doors are yours to specify, and the finish choice shifts the character considerably. Matt Décor is a soft, non-reflective panel front, and on an earthy tone it is the most natural-looking of the three – closest to a painted or fitted wardrobe. Matt Colour Glass is genuine glass with a low-sheen surface, giving fango a smooth, even depth across a wide front without reflections. Glossy Colour Glass is real glass with a high-sheen finish, adding light and a lacquered richness that takes the colour in a more contemporary direction. The carcase is always Matt Décor.

Mid-tone warm neutrals are also among the easiest finishes to maintain – dust shows far less than on a dark colour, and everyday marks less than on a pale one, which matters across three doors.

The name Duo comes from the doors: each is built from two panels rather than one full-height sheet. That produces the split-door front and the three slim decorative strips running across it, and it solves a practical problem that catches people out with wardrobes of this size. A 236cm door in a single piece is extremely awkward to carry up a staircase or round a landing. Two panels are manageable, which matters on delivery day if the bedroom is upstairs or access involves a turn.

Sliding doors become more valuable the wider the wardrobe gets. A three-door hinged wardrobe needs close to a metre of clear floor before a door can open; this needs none. That is what makes a 300cm wardrobe workable in a room where the bed sits opposite or a doorway limits the floor space. The Supreme Duo runs on a metal rail system built for a smooth, near-silent glide, holding three heavy doors true over years rather than months.

Internally the wardrobe divides into three equal compartments – 80cm, 90cm or 100cm each depending on the width you choose – with two height-adjustable shelves and a full-width hanging rail in every one. Three separate hanging sections is a more usable arrangement than one long run: two people sharing can take a compartment each, with the third given over to bedding, luggage or out-of-season clothing.

Construction is what the rauch BLACK line is built on: high-quality wood-based panels, metal fittings and rails, and an MDF back wall for rigidity across the full span. With 68cm external depth and 58cm usable inside, garments hang square on the rail rather than pressing against the doors. As a 100% Made in Germany product carrying both the Blue Angel and Golden M seals, it meets independently verified standards for low emissions and furniture quality – worth knowing for a piece of furniture this size in a room you sleep in.

Two heights are offered. The 236cm model adds a useful band of storage above the hanging space where ceiling height allows; 223cm suits standard modern ceilings. If three doors is more or less than the wall will take, the Supreme Duo is also produced as a 2-door wardrobe from 160cm to 200cm and a 4-door wardrobe from 320cm to 400cm. Matching bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.

Internal Storage Layout

  • Three equal compartments: Each measuring 80cm (240cm model), 90cm (270cm model) or 100cm (300cm model) in width
  • Left compartment: 2 height-adjustable storage shelves in the upper section, with 1 full-width hanging rail beneath
  • Centre compartment: Identical arrangement – 2 height-adjustable storage shelves above and 1 full-width hanging rail below, positioned behind the mirrored door
  • Right compartment: Identical arrangement – 2 height-adjustable storage shelves above and 1 full-width hanging rail below
  • Total hanging space: Three separate rails rather than one continuous run, allowing the wardrobe to be divided between users or between garment types
  • Shelf adjustment: Shelves reposition independently in each compartment, so one section can be set for full-length garments while another is given over to folded storage
  • Usable depth: 58cm throughout, allowing garments to hang square without contact with the sliding doors
  • Height options: The 236cm model provides additional storage volume above the hanging section in all three compartments compared with the 223cm model
  • Additional fittings: Extra shelves, rails and interior accessories can be selected under Extras when ordering

FAQs

Is delivery and assembly included?
Yes. Delivery and full professional assembly are included at no extra cost, to England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Our team builds the wardrobe in your room of choice – there is nothing to add at checkout and nothing for you to assemble.

How long will it take to arrive?
Dispatch is 8 to 10 weeks. This is a dispatch timeframe rather than a delivery date: the wardrobe is built to your specification in Germany and then shipped to the UK. Occasionally items arrive sooner, and during German factory holiday closures it can take slightly longer.

Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order in your chosen finish and size, so once the order has been processed with Rauch it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.

How much space do I need to install it?
Allow 15cm of clearance at each side of the wardrobe and 15cm above it. On a wardrobe of this width it is worth measuring the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards, radiators and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.

What colour is Fango?
Fango is a warm beige-taupe – an earthy neutral with more depth than a plain beige and a distinctly warmer character than any grey. Across a wardrobe of this width it reads as a soft feature colour rather than a plain background.

What schemes does Fango suit?
It works best with natural materials and warm palettes: linen, wool, rattan, oak and walnut flooring, and warm off-white or clay wall colours. It is less successful alongside cool blue-greys or bright white gloss furniture, where the warmth can look mismatched.

Which door is mirrored?
The centre door carries a full-height mirror as standard on this model, with your chosen finish on the two outer doors. This gives a symmetrical front, breaks up the run of colour and places the mirror centrally in the room.

Will it fit up my stairs and into the room?
This is where the Duo design helps. Each door is built from two panels rather than a single full-height sheet, so the components are easier to carry through doorways, up staircases and around landings than a wardrobe of this size would normally be. It is still worth checking your access allows for the carcase panels, particularly on the 236cm height.

What is the difference between the three front finishes?
Matt Décor is a panel finish with a soft, non-reflective surface – the most natural-looking option on an earthy tone. Glossy Colour Glass is genuine glass with a high-sheen, light-reflecting front. Matt Colour Glass is also genuine glass, but with a low-sheen surface that minimises reflections. All three are supplied in Fango, with the mirrored centre door and Matt Décor carcase unchanged across the range.

How wide is each internal compartment?
The interior is divided into three equal sections. On the 240cm model each compartment is 80cm wide, on the 270cm model 90cm, and on the 300cm model 100cm. Every compartment has its own shelves and hanging rail.

What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms – a reflection of the build standard behind the rauch BLACK collection.

Can I add more shelves or rails inside?
Yes. The wardrobe comes with the standard interior of two adjustable shelves and one hanging rail per compartment. Additional interior fittings can be selected under Extras before you complete your order.

Are other sizes available?
Yes. The Supreme Duo is also produced as a 2-door wardrobe from 160cm to 200cm and a 4-door wardrobe from 320cm to 400cm.

Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Coordinating bedside tables and chests of drawers are available from the same collection.

How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
  • Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
  • Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
  • Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
  • Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
  • Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.
Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

  • Check all packs before beginning assembly.
  • Confirm that all required components are present.
  • Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
  • Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
  • Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
  • Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.
Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.
