About the Full Mirror Front

Most mirrored wardrobes give you a mirror on one door. This one is mirrored across the entire front – all four doors and all three drawers – and the difference is not incremental. Two metres of uninterrupted reflective surface, from floor to 223cm, does to a bedroom what nothing else in furniture can: it doubles the apparent depth of the room, redistributes every bit of available light, and effectively removes the wardrobe from view. In a room that needs storage but cannot afford to look smaller, this is the answer.

The detail that makes it work is the drawers. Mirroring a drawer front is considerably harder than mirroring a door – there are more edges, more joins and more opportunity for the line to break – and most manufacturers simply do not attempt it. Running the mirror across the drawers as well is what turns this from a wardrobe with mirrored doors into a genuinely continuous mirrored wall. Look at the front and there is no point where the reflection stops and furniture begins.

Which raises a fair question: if the whole front is mirror, why does the carcase colour matter? It matters at every edge. The carcase is what you see at the sides of the unit, around the door frames, at the base and throughout the interior – and it is what the handles are matched to. Alpine White keeps everything light and disappears fastest into a pale room. Silk Grey is the softest and most tonal, warm rather than cold. Champagne adds a faint golden warmth that suits brass fittings and natural materials. Graphite is the boldest, framing the mirror in near-black for a sharp, contemporary result. The mirror is the same on all four; the edges are what change the character.

Behind the front, the layout is unusually well judged for a wardrobe of this width. It divides into two equal 100cm compartments, each fitted differently rather than identically. The left-hand compartment sits behind two full-height doors and is given over entirely to storage: two adjustable shelves and a metal hanging rail rated to 40kg, so it takes coats, suits and dresses at full length without compromise.

The right-hand compartment is where the wardrobe earns its keep. Three drawers occupy the lower section, each with a 94cm wide, 48.7cm deep interior – wide enough for genuinely useful folded storage rather than the token drawers most wardrobes offer. They run on underfloor metal runners with self-closing and damping included as standard, so a pushed drawer draws itself shut and lands quietly. Above them sits a two-door section with its own shelf and hanging rail, keeping shorter garments accessible at eye level.

That split is what makes it work as a single piece of furniture. Long hanging on one side, drawers plus short hanging on the other – for most people that removes the need for a separate chest of drawers entirely, which on a 201cm footprint is a substantial saving of floor space.

The fittings are specified rather than assumed. Shelves are 2.2cm thick, 98cm wide and 50cm deep, rated to 20kg each – thick enough not to bow under stacked knitwear or storage boxes, which is where cheaper wardrobes fail first. The rails are metal rather than plastic, at 97.3cm and 40kg. Usable interior depth is 56.6cm, so garments hang square rather than pressing against the doors. The body is wood-based panel with an MDF back and metal fittings throughout.

Miramar Crystal belongs to Rauch's Orange Plus premium range and is 100% Made in Germany, carrying both the Blue Angel and the Golden M seals. Blue Angel is an independently verified low-emission certification – meaningful for a large piece of furniture in a room you sleep in – and the Golden M is Germany's recognised furniture quality mark. It carries a 10-year manufacturer guarantee.

A Passepartout frame is available as an optional extra. This is a surround fitted across the top and both sides of the wardrobe, closing the gap to the ceiling and walls to give a built-in, fitted appearance rather than a freestanding one. On a full mirror front the effect is particularly strong, since the frame reads as the border of a mirrored panel rather than the edge of a piece of furniture. Interior drawers, additional hanging rails, lighting kits and shelf dividers can also be added.

The Miramar Crystal is produced in 2, 3 and 5 door versions alongside this one, and in colour glass fronts matching the carcase colours instead of mirror. There is also a combination front, pairing glass on the full-height doors with mirror on the doors above the drawers. Matching bedside tables, chests of drawers and dressing units are available in coordinating finishes.

Internal Storage Layout

  • Two equal compartments: Each 100cm wide, fitted differently rather than identically
  • Left compartment – full-height storage: Behind two full-height mirrored doors. 2 adjustable shelves and 1 metal hanging rail
  • Right compartment – upper section: Behind two mirrored doors. 1 shelf and 1 hanging rail, suited to shorter garments at eye level
  • Right compartment – lower section: 3 mirror-fronted drawers with underfloor metal runners, self-closing and damping
  • Drawer capacity: Each drawer interior measures 94cm wide x 48.7cm deep x 16.9cm high
  • Shelves: 98cm wide x 50cm deep x 2.2cm thick, with a 20kg load capacity each. Height-adjustable to suit your own storage
  • Hanging rails: Metal, 97.3cm in length, with a 40kg load capacity
  • Usable depth: 56.6cm throughout, allowing garments to hang square without contact with the doors
  • Additional fittings: Interior drawers, extra hanging rails, lighting kits and shelf dividers can be added as optional extras

FAQs

Is the whole front mirrored, including the drawers?
Yes. All four doors and all three drawer fronts are mirrored, giving a continuous reflective surface across the full 201cm width. Mirrored drawer fronts are unusual – most wardrobes stop at the doors – and it is what makes the front read as a single mirrored panel rather than furniture with mirrors attached.

If the front is all mirror, does the carcase colour matter?
Yes, at every edge. The carcase is what you see at the sides of the unit, around the door frames, at the base and throughout the interior, and the handles are colour-matched to it. Alpine White is the lightest, Silk Grey the softest and most tonal, Champagne adds a warm golden note, and Graphite frames the mirror in near-black for a sharper look.

What is the internal layout?
Two equal 100cm compartments. The left has two full-height doors with 2 adjustable shelves and a metal hanging rail. The right has three drawers below and a two-door section above with 1 shelf and 1 hanging rail.

Do the drawers have soft close?
Yes, included as standard. The drawers run on underfloor metal runners with self-closing and damping, so a pushed drawer draws itself shut and closes quietly.

How big are the drawers?
Each drawer interior measures 94cm wide, 48.7cm deep and 16.9cm high – genuinely usable folded storage rather than the shallow drawers often fitted to wardrobes. For many people they remove the need for a separate chest of drawers.

How much space do I need to install it?
Approximately 5cm of clearance at each side of the wardrobe. It is worth measuring the full run of wall before ordering, including skirting boards and any point where the wall is not perfectly square.

How much weight will the shelves and rails hold?
Each shelf is rated to 20kg and each hanging rail to 40kg. The shelves are 2.2cm thick and the rails are metal rather than plastic, so neither will bow or sag under normal household use.

Is delivery and assembly included?
Free delivery is included. Professional assembly is available at additional cost and can be selected at checkout.

Can I cancel or change my order?
No. This wardrobe is made to order in your chosen carcase colour and options, so once the order has been processed with Rauch it cannot be cancelled or amended. Please check your measurements and selected options carefully before ordering.

What is a Passepartout frame?
An optional surround fitted across the top and both sides of the wardrobe. It closes the gap to the ceiling and walls, giving a built-in, fitted appearance rather than a freestanding one. It is available at additional cost.

Is it available in other sizes?
Yes. The Miramar Crystal is produced in 2, 3 and 5 door versions alongside this four-door model.

Is it available without the mirror?
Yes. The range is also produced with colour glass fronts matching the carcase colours, and in a combination front pairing glass on the full-height doors with mirror on the doors above the drawers.

What guarantee does it come with?
Rauch provide a 10-Year Manufacturer Guarantee, subject to their warranty terms. Miramar Crystal sits in the Orange Plus premium range.

Is there matching bedroom furniture?
Yes. Coordinating bedside tables, chests of drawers and dressing units are available in matching finishes.

How do I look after the surfaces?
The surfaces are easy to maintain and should be cleaned with a dry cloth only.

How Professional Assembly Works

Step 1

Choose Your Wardrobe

Browse our wardrobe collections and choose the size, finish and configuration that works for your bedroom.

Step 2

Select Your Delivery Service

Where available, select Professional Delivery & Assembly from the delivery options shown directly on the product page.

Step 3

Prepare the Room

Make sure the room and access route are clear and that sufficient floor and ceiling space is available for safe assembly.

Step 4

We Take Care of the Rest

Our specialist team will deliver, assemble, position and check your wardrobe before completing the handover.

Preparing Your Room for Assembly

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. Preparing the room before the delivery team arrives is therefore essential.

  • Ensure the room has sufficient clear floor space for the wardrobe to be assembled lying flat.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of clearance around the wardrobe footprint where possible.
  • Allow approximately 15–20cm of ceiling clearance above the finished height of the wardrobe.
  • Ensure access routes, doorways, hallways and stairs are clear and suitable for the wardrobe components to be safely carried into the room.
  • Remove furniture and other items that may obstruct the assembly area.
  • Consider radiators, light fittings, low ceilings, sloping ceilings and other permanent obstructions that could prevent safe assembly.
  • Our wardrobes are freestanding and the assembly team may require access around the furniture during installation.
Important: If our assembly team arrives and the room or access route is not suitable for safe delivery and assembly, they may be unable to complete the service. The assembly charge may still apply where the service cannot be completed because sufficient access or assembly space has not been provided.

What Happens If Damage Occurs During Assembly?

When you choose our Professional Delivery & Assembly service, the installation is carried out by our specialist assembly team.

If accidental damage occurs to your wardrobe during assembly, the assemblers will report the damage to us so that we can arrange the appropriate replacement part.

We normally aim to order the replacement part within approximately 48 hours of receiving the relevant information from the assembly team.

Please be aware that many of our wardrobe parts are manufactured and supplied from Germany. Replacement components may therefore take a similar lead time to the original order before they arrive with us and can be arranged for fitting.

This is one of the key benefits of selecting professional assembly: if accidental damage occurs during installation by our team, we take responsibility for resolving the issue.

Assembly by the Customer

If your wardrobe is supplied as Delivery Only, it will normally arrive flat-packed with the components and assembly instructions required to build the furniture.

Wardrobe assembly clearance guide showing approximately 20cm working space around the wardrobe

Large wardrobes normally need to be assembled flat before being carefully raised into their final position. We strongly recommend checking all components before beginning assembly and making sure there is sufficient room to work safely around the wardrobe.

  • Check all packs before beginning assembly.
  • Confirm that all required components are present.
  • Check that no components appear damaged before assembly begins.
  • Use at least two people for safe assembly and lifting.
  • Allow approximately 20cm of working clearance around the wardrobe where possible.
  • Ensure there is enough clear floor space to assemble the wardrobe flat.
  • Check the available ceiling height before lifting the wardrobe upright.
Please note: Damage caused during customer self-assembly is not treated in the same way as accidental damage caused while our professional team is carrying out the assembly service.

Delivery Times for Professional Assembly

Orders with Professional Delivery & Assembly are delivered by a specialist assembly team. This can mean the delivery time is slightly longer than the standard delivery estimate shown for delivery-only orders.

Please allow approximately 6–8 weeks for orders requiring Professional Delivery & Assembly.

Assembly Within 40 Miles of BB9

If you are located within approximately 40 miles of our BB9 postcode, we may be able to provide an additional assembly service for selected wardrobes that would otherwise be supplied as Delivery Only.

Availability and pricing for this local service should be confirmed with our team before delivery.
